big car problem!
damn something is seriously wrong with my car. My check light os on. And my car won't go faster then 80. Before i could hit 140 easly. But damn it be hella struggling. Espcially up hills. OMG!!! Is it my transmission or something. Help me out!
ok sounds good. Thanks guys. Ill make an appointment on monday. But the problem is that i didn't get it from mazda. I bought it off from a random dealer. He was just selling the car and i fell in love with it so i had to get it.
Sounds like a dead cylinder to me - could be something as simple as a spark plug or plug wire.
If you'd rather check this out yourself, just check the plugs and wires first. Beyond that, let the techs handle it - could be a compression issue.
Good luck - keep us posted.

i have problem with my back right brake. My friend said that that might be the problem. But i dought it. A "cylinder!" damn i hope not. Someone from mazda told me that i all cars need to get an tune up after 30,000 miles. I haven't done that yet. Guess that must be the problem
But for a full one it costs 400+ bucks

No way a brake cylinder would cause these kinds of issues. At most, if a brake cylider goes bad, you lose the brakes - they don't lock up on you.
What year is your car? Mileage? 30,000 miles for a full tune-up sounds like it's not a bad idea, but shouldn't be "necessary". And your issue does not sound like a "tuning" thing. Besides, there's not much to tune up on newer cars - no timing to adjust, etc.
The manual for the Proteges suggests spark plug replacement at 30,000 miles. Sounds like we might be getting warmer here.......START WITH THE EASY STUFF. Swap the plugs - it's like $10 for 4 new plugs. Then go on from there if that doesn't help.
Does your car idle rough? Or just not "go fast"? Can you HEAR any strange noises when it's running?

first of all. The gears will not shift unless i lift my foot off the gas pedal. And my overdrive will come on and i it won't go past 80 mphs. I have a mazda protege lx 2000. the mileage is about 42,000. Its also an automatic. So whats wrong with it?
whats your anti freeze water ratio? with these past cold snaps you may have a frozen or blocked line, i dunno it would cause insane ruffness and no excelleration above 80, happened to me the other day , mine was rated for -25 c and it went down to -35 c so i changed the ration and fine ever since
get yourself a antifreeze measure thingy so you can tell your ratio and see if that may be your problem
