snorkelling in the red sea
we were discussing this in the "how cold is it?" thread. these are pictures taken with a disposable underwater camera in the red sea off the coast of saudi arabia in may 2002. they aren't great but i'm not a photographer.

i'd never snorkeled until last year. i was in awe. i stayed in the water for 3 hours...... and got totally severely sunburnt in the process. it was amazing. especially for prairie folk like me.
if i was ever to do a long-term assignment somewhere where i could dive, i'm sure i'd go to the next level and try to get cert. for scuba.
Those were fantastic views. The quality is really good for a disposable camera. I can understand how one would stay there for three hours.

Hey Mesoh, if you havenīt done skydiving yet... once you do, donīt do tandem jumping. If the place where you go to allows the accelerated freefall (called that way because the learning is accelerated... not the fall
), choose that. You jump with your own parachute, not strapped to an instructor.
There is nothing like doing your first jump on your own (there will ofcourse be two instructors jumping at the same time and will follow you until you open... from then on they will guide you with a radio (at least most places do) until you touch down.
Also, donīt let them make you jump from 5,000 feet and make you open the parachute immediately. You need to experience the freefall for a while (you need to jump from about 10,000 to 15,000 for that).
