Unhappy Tune up...she is running ruff....

WOW...it's been a while since i've been on this board...anyways...i've been noticing there has been a slight loss in power and it just hasn't been running as smooth as she normally does. i put a ractive cone intake on it a month ago and it felt really good....and then the past two weeks it has seemed a bit boggy... and gas milage has been worse too....

i have 260 KM on my car so the engine isn't young....but i was hoping there might be something i could take apart or rebuild...any suggestions......amybe a rebuild is in order...???

Jesse, how old is everything??Fuel filter, plugs, wires etc..??
The fuel filter especially. Have you gotten the injectors flushed lately or used fuel injector cleaner lately??
How long ago was your last oil change?? There's this stuff, "engine flush" the last time I went for one I told the guy to put some in but he said that I should only do it if the car is running rough. So maybe you got some crap build up in your engine.....

Try the fuel filter then. If I recall right, it is a bit of a pain in the *** on a first gen, but not all that bad.

i've got 250,000 miles on stock internals, and still running strong.. your car is'nt tired, the protege runs forever.. something's on it's way out... find it, or the car will quickly find it for you, about 25 miles or more from a decent service station. good luck!

may the best man win!
i like this! protege runs forever! its true, i have a 1.6 engine and dont know much about her, infact i dont know anything, its a single cam and 8 or 12 valve i think, please if anybody knows more, tell me!
