Intake for Protege 99

I want to change my intake. I hesitate between an AEM Short Ram (325$ Can.) and an INJEN CAI (460$ Can.) There is 165$ Can. difference between both.

Which one should I choose ?
Is the AEM do a good job ? Great sound and performance ??

Thanks guys

The Injen is known to cause jerking problems w/ the auto tranny. If the AEM fits fine, I would get that.

What is the diameter of a 1.8l's intake pipe and the one from a 1.6l?

I put the Injen on my 1.6L. I haven't had a problem with it yet. It is my first mod.

So I could get an AEM intake meant for the 1.8l and all I have to do is find a way to attach it to the intake manifold, right?

like this one

in theory you can use it, all you have to do is find a way to put the maf in line with it. i mean yeah granted its not meant for the 1.6, but you can make it work.

I was thinking of cutting the stock airbox and using the MAF's current location to put it inline with the intake.
