So protege menace, some other friends and I were at a White Castle @ 130am and so we get up to the counter. PM was the frist to get hi sfood and the conberation between him and teh clerkl went liek thsi :

(after ordering and paying, PM had his change in hand)
him: 'ey man! now i jjus know you gots some chrisssmuss spirit in ya man, c'mon man... i's the holiday season i kow you got some
PM: Huh? uh.. yeha
him:C'mon man, help a brutha out! We all got the crissmuss spirit in us!

(PM hands him a dollar, which he then pockets)

him: THank ya!

So i'm next in line and he startws giving me the same christmas psritn bullshti and i jsut say "um.. yeah... well {trails off}" and dont gibve him ANY money.

I mean, hes ****** on duyty getin PAID to wrok ther eand he has the NERBE to ask me fro EXTRA money!! **** THAT ****.

SO layter PM and all the people i'm with call me a DICK for not gioving him anyhitng, since they all gave hima DOLLAR!

I agree, all he did was punch some keys on the cash register, how many of you were there? cuz, 1$ a piece, say you were 6 dudes, he made 5$ in 5 minutes for doing nothing.

Hey Gro - Wawa isn't as local as you think - my buddy went to Princeton (yep - bright guy) in Jersey, and there was a Wawa right up the block.

And NO Dre, you were NOT a dick.

I don't know how many of you listen to Tom Leykis on radio - but the guy is great. And he says that everyone is paid what they are worth. If you make $5 an hour, that's all you are worth to the company, and - more importantly - to yourself. **** that begging *******. Good for you Dre.

But with homeless ppl, I try to make it a habit to give to them b/c you never know if you might be in that situatuion. I feel guilty if I don't give a hameless person anything if I have spare change in my pocket. To me, thats kinda selfish if you have EXTRA change in your pocket and you use it to buy a value package of car air freshener.

AND NO DRE, YOU WEREN'T A DICK. You should have told his boss and got him fired. Fast food workers aren't allowed to take tips anyway, especially ask for them.

Well, I can say with 100% certainty that I will NEVER be in that situation. Not all - but MOST homeless are alcoholic, drug addicted, or mentally ill. And most of them CHOOSE to be homeless, IMHO. If I had to work 20 hour shifts and eat only PB&J for all meals to survive, I would - as long as I could take the 4 hours left in each day and sleep in my own place, with a roof over my head. I can't imagine one single situation in life which would FORCE me to be homeless for more than a night or two. I don't feel bad for the homeless - there is such a thing as cleaning up your act and yourself, and getting a JOB - any job.

I will give money to the homeless, but they have to work for it. The guy who holds out a sign or a cup or begs gets nothing. The guy who sings a song, dances, tells jokes, or otherwise entertains me can have a few bucks. Laziness will not be rewarded.

Hey man, laziness shouldn't be rewarded, but giving some poor guy a buck isn't really a big reward. Not everyone had an equal chance in life to start off with so just because a person is homeless doesn't mean that they are lazy. I have seen bums that smoke and ask for change, and I always give them the 'I don't fukcing have change for myself', but then sometimes I do give a dollar to some other homeless people.

I don't give homeless people money. The only ones I ever see have signs and are standing on the street corner. One time I even saw a guy with a sign that said "Will work for booze". I agree with hihoslva, most of the time its their fault they are homeless or don't have enough money to eat.

One time, me and 2 friends came out of a movie and a guy comes up to us telling us this sob story about how he cant afford any food for him and his wife because they gave all their food to their dogs. I was just like wtf. Get rid of your damn dogs and eat your food. One of my friends gave him $5 and my other friend gave him $20, and I didn't give him anything. After the movie our plan was to go eat, and on the way to the restaurant my friends gave me a lot of **** for not giving the guy money. But when we get to the restaurant one of my friends realizes that he had just given the guy all his money and now can't get any food. So he has to sit and watch me and my other friend eat. I would have loaned my friend money to eat but I only had enough for my food and a tip for the waitress.
