XM in my p5

I got XM and its killer. It was a pain to mount the antenna but i put it on the front and ran the wires down my windshield. looks good now. ill get some pics soon. The p5 sucks when it comes to firewall access. but oh well. i also got the alarm in with remote tracking and remote start and turbo delay. it was from germany, US sells nothing like this. brandsmart put it in, they had a "fun" time. needless to say about 900 bucks later its in. PEACE

Just FYI - if you guys live in areas with strong XM signals (don't know how to find that out, though), I've heard of people mounting the antennas UNDER the car, with perfect results - mostly under the rear bumper.

If your signals are weak, it might not work. But in large metro areas, I hear it works just fine - and no ugly antenna (and nothing to attract thieves to your XM).

it really dont matter, you dont really use XM sats to get the signal anyways. you get it from L band repeaters. that is why sirrus sucks and xm kicks.

XM radio operates at 2.3-2.4 GHz, plus the XM sats, (rock and roll) are geostationary and sirrus isnt. now sirrus claims to have a better antenna angle of 60-90 while xm is 25-50 but XM has repeaters on the ground that transfer the sig from the sat to the tower, then transmits on L band to your car when a sat sig is not there. so you have the best luck with XM. The gound plane on your car where you mount your antenna isnt really as crucial as they make it to be, but they are very touchy antennas. hope this helps. TRAV

oh you can... just like i do with free direct tv every channel and movie channel... but how to do it stays with me.... but if you look you will find it online.... you can even get free cable modem if you have cable tv service. im a netadmin and security admin... i always toy with that stuff. but xm is only 9.99 a month so if you are goin to pay for it go ahead it is worth every penny.

only time man, they can do it now anywhere in the world, but they are only licensed for the US but goes quite aways out to sea. ONLY TIME MAN! you will love it.

did you also know though, they have mobile sat dishes! (well not really dishes, just antennas but anyways) you can recieve direct tv in your car as you drive. BUT they are not out for consumer use yet, but they are using them on comercial airlines now! ITS AWSOME

ok i need a coke.
PEACE Trav
