DC Area: More snow than I expected
Man we got a lot of snow. More than I expected. Canada, here we come.
Damn, we haven't had a snow storm in a long time.
I feel bad now. I should have put my stock wheels back on. I can't even go to Blockbuster which is right down the street.
I wasn't expecting to get this much snow. Its going to feel like forever for this snow to melt. (well for me it is)
But hey.
LET THE DRIFTING GAMES BEGIN

We've got just a few inches on the ground, but the roads, etc. are icy as hell. Took me alot longer to park this morning. (Drifting contests in the school parking lot!) LOL!

Snowed like hell here, too (long island). I worked in Manhattan today - took me almost 3 hours to get home (35 miles).
Long Island dropped the ball on this one. Queens and Manhattan were fine as far as roads, but once I got a little into Nassau (next to Queens, for those who don't know), the roads were fucked up beyond belief. Icy, snow covered - I actually got stopped on an upgrade (really couldn't call it a hill) in stop & go traffic, and the P5 was slowly spinning it's front wheels at IDLE. Yes, it was that icy.
We didn't get that much more snow that other areas - seems the public works dept. just wasn't up to the task this time. It was damn dangerous out there, and there were TONS of accidents.
BTW - this is the weather that brings out the HUGE ******* factor in SUV drivers. They think they are golden with the big tires and four-wheel drive. Until they try to stop, and decide maybe a car ain't so bad after all - as they smack the guardrail.
On a fun note, I did get to do a few e-brake slides - that's always cool.

I'm more talking about the over-convident SUV driver, not the SUVs themselves.
People who drive like they're on dry pavement when there's 6" of snow on the road.
Granted, I'm not a big SUV fan, but I can appreciate their abilities - I felt good knowing my wife could throw her Jeep Cherokee in 4wd for the snowy ride home today - and SHE understands that STOPPING is just as hard (or harder) for SUVs as it is for cars.
It's the people in ALL kinds of SUVs - big, little, expensive, cheap - who think "I have 4wd and ABS brakes, so I'm invincible" who **** me off. BUt it's okay - they all get theirs eventually. I only hope that it's only guardrails, trees, and other inanimate objects that they hit.
