I'll listen to about everything. Mostly techno/trance, but sometimes I'll throw in some SR-71, KMFDM, Linkin Park.. Depends what mood I am in. After I get off work I like to throw in some hardcore ****, turn it up as loud as I can stand and rally out of the parking lot.

Word up Jesse.

I agree...Oakey's new stuff just isnt up to par with what other superstar DJ's out there are layin down...I suppose that one could say he's evolving as an aritist and redefining his style...but if you asked me...his new style is wack. Its not even trance anymore hardly...its a mixture of airy, vocal, corny, breaks and instrumentals that put me to sleep. I saw Oakenfold a couple months ago at Area 1 and was bitterly dissapointed in his selection of music. I am more into the harder beats...the ones that make you bob your head and say "thats the ****"...stuff like Christopher Lawrence and George Acosta put down....oh and cant forget about my Bay Area DJ's-Mars,Mystre,Thomas Trouble...those guys are bad-***.

well my race CD consists of track after track of the hardest, fastest, rawest, craziest, heaviest she-ite there ever was.....

SLAYER

and i'll throw in some good old skool punk (Black Flag, SNFU, Minor Threat, etc)

Although my tastes are VERY different from the car to the just hanging out...i'm kinda strange like that...in the car i like BASS, so it's mostly hip hop (PE, BDP, WSC, DRE, etc) and hard/fast stuff (Korn, Voivod, Pantera, etc). but i'll listen to almost anything that has excellent production....some of my favoritely (is that a word?) produced music comes from Madonna, that **** is right on every time, same with Lenny Kravitz.

Move out of the car and i get much more mellow, Bob Marley is my all time favorite, He'll live forever in music......Pink Floyd in the tray and i'm a happy camper, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone or some funky Jazz or Motown..... I have my moods and 100s of CDs and LPs and about 700 live concerts on DAT, another 250 on CDR and maybe 200 more on Cassettes and 300 or so Videos.....so i have plenty to choose from

I listen to just about anything, but mostly rap/hip-hop. The new Nas (stillmatic) is my personal favorite right now. I prefer 'good' lyricists. Not all the bs rap where they just spit out stupid verses to make a dollar. I like the **** that makes you think (believe it or not, there is rap like that!)

Acosta is funny. He spins good trance at the beginning of a set, but then slowly changes into hard house. Good though. Ive met him before. Percy James, who was his front man down in Miami is cool too. I've hung with him like twice.

Ever heard of Dj Alia (sp?) or Dj Morgan? They are both west coasters to my knowledge, but i got the chance to see them at Blink in Orlando. Alia is HOT!!! But both spun good stuff.
I am not sure about DJ Alia (sp??) I have seen a DJ Alias that was a girl and she had skills not to mention being easy on the eyes
Morgan I beleive is from Southern Cali...but I may be mistaken...name sounds familiar, but cant place it. Yeah...its funny how Acosta changes it up...but his latest 2 cds AM/PM are off the hinges! I like tribal **** too...the "SF Sound" house...made famous by Tony, Jeno, Carlos, and Garth...Trance is GREAT...but sometimes I would rather dance to that funky tribal house. Speaking of Tribal...Grant Plant recently came to SF from the UK...He spins the tightest tribal trance...too bad I missed him oh welll...at least I got to see/meet Sasha and Digweed later that week.

Wow, you like all the same music I do Gro. What new Chemical Brothers album are you talking about? Music:Response Ep? Crystal Method is awesome but needs to put out a new album because their new one is not up to par with their previous two. I'm a big fan of Paul van Dyk, I havent heard any of Oakenfold's new stuff but I was never really a hardcore fan. You into Carl ***, Orbital, DJ Doboy, Leftfield??

I listen to trance music mostly. I have about 20 burned CD-R's with trance/techno on them. I also listen to some Creed and Linkin Park here and there when I'm in the right mood.

Anyone ever heard this track....?

The Auranaut - People Want to be Needed (DJ Tiesto)

It's a real great track, just DO NOT get the original mix...it sucks *** and is repetitve. Tiesto's mix sounds totally different.

We got any Dj's in the forum at all???? I've done a couple of shows here in the midwest.. Nothing too big to brag about... Only heads I've spun with are Dj 43... and Dj Magic Mike... also spun at a show where Robin Foxx performed....
