Sick of getting it handed to me...
hey guys, Im really sick of getting my *** handed to me everytime i race. I imagine that the only reason is because its an automatic. I raced a fing metro and got beat.
How much should replacing my tranny with a 5 speed cost, and is it worth it?
any reply would be helpful.

ive tried alot of different things, reving it to 2500 rpm with the brake down, starting in first, nuetral dropping, etc.. but none of it works.
One thing is, i can make it up to 120 mph, but none of my friends can in their civics and accords, is the protge just a more top-end speed car? I mean, i know that if i did a rally race with my friends I would tatally waste them cause i can take corners at like 50, but noone wants to! they do straight *** quarter mile crap!

i think your big heavy rims might be an issue as well...i have 15's and from a roll ive taken some crx's and some del sols...from about 30ish to about 75ish or so...forget racing from a stop man...you have an auto like me...dont even bother...race from a roll...or just stick to 4 banger s-10s cause those are easy to beat up on...i took an xtreme 4 cylinder and won 2 times from a stop and 2 times from a roll.....i just rev up to 2500rpm in Drive with overdrive off and go...works for me...a standard wont do a whole lot cause if you rev too much with a standard you are just gonna peel out...the 5 spd is faster obviously but still...just go from a roll more often man...
