I dunno if it is part of the alarm, but what is the little connector under the steering wheel?

factory alarm

well there's one mans opinion. the biggest issue(for me) is when
aftermaket alarms are installed, the installer(usually a hack) cuts
and taps and butchers your harness. then when you have an electrical problem and your car is still under warranty, guess what? Mazda won't cover it. they say take it to who installed it.
so the best thing i could say is use your best judgement and see
what alot of other owners have. me: Mazda factory alarm.
