License Tag

Hey you VA guys. I did a search but to no avail. I was wondering if it's illegal in VA to remove the front license tag. I'm not gonna take the license plate holder out but just take out the license itself and put I guess a Mazda logo plate.

Any site that I can look up or do you guys know anything?

I've been to:

DMV site
VA State Police site
FC site
My VA site

And some other VA law sites.

Thanks!
Jay

My sister removed her front license plate and put a bettyboop plate instead. She got pulled over by a Va. state cop and got a ticket for not have a VA tag on her car. Sorry!

Just thought I would add that if you put it in your windshield instead of on your bumper, you will still get a ticket. It has to be "affixed" to the bumper of the car according to Commonwealth's statute.

VA cops are more strict bout licesen plates than MD. alot of MD kid keep their plates in windsheild/on the dash.

Not many get pulled over.
