Has anyone else had the problem of threads being marked as already read and you havent even read them?

Actually, sometimes it won't mark them read when I have read them...hmmm...

i'm looking at the main "index", it says there are new posts (filled in black on left) - say.. under Racing stories, i go under Off-topic, read something/post/whateve, go back to main index, says that everything under Racing Stories has been read, but you look under Racing Stories, and there is stuff there I havent read, annoying when you miss a post you were watching! (also doesnt show up under User / CP as a new post) - just my luck!

I know exactly what you are talking about, it happens to me, too, but only when (and I can't figure out how or how long) I come to the site but get tied up with other things at work.
I'll go to a section and the posts will be marked but when I go back to the first page all the new posts are showing as if I'd already read them and I have to look at the date/time to see if I actually read it or not.
This happens at some point nearly every day.

i think it times out...if you wait a few moments and refresh it may consider them already viewed. I have noticed this ever since I've been here, not just with this last upgrade.
