pet peeve: view new posts
Example: I am gone for 24 hours, come back and have a "reply to post" notice. I check that thread but don't surf the site. 20 minutes later, I want to see what all I missed, but all that comes up under "view new posts" is what was posted in those 20 minutes! ARGH!
I don't know if this is something that can be changed, but it would be great if I could view all new posts from a time/date of my choosing.

Yeah, it's the cookie "time-out" period.... goes a bit too quickly sometimes. Some forums I'm on seem to have it set a lot longer, so it's just gotta be a setting in the software.
I'd also like to be able to search for, say, two days worth of posts, or however long you want to.

Even if it would just allow me to search for new posts since the last time I searched for new posts, that would be great.
I'm just annoyed how after viewing one or two threads, it assumes I've seen them all, even if I haven't even looked through them.

.
actually, I was supporting your post, by saying that the search is TOO limited. I also agree with the view new posts limitations.
