take it to 6500 if youre not satisfied. you'll be fine.

If it redlines at 6000rpm the nwouldnt 6500rpm be over revving a little bit?? and if that is the case i thought that was bad and could
blow your engine..???

The only azda 4 cylinder engine that is an interference fit is the F2. You can rev right to fuel cut off and not really worry about valve float hurting you.

before the swap (dx) i would take it up to 6k in first, then to 6500 in 2nd, and the same with third. then shut it down. it seems to give you a little extra "push" after the shift instead of that feeling of bogging" and then engaging. but it always worked out best that way. well, for me. i was always afraid of taking it past 6500

when I use to run my 94 lx I would take it to I think the fuel cut is at like 7400 rpm and the redline's at 7 in all gears but 5th

when i race i take my rpm to 6000 but after that your reving for nothing cause your not in the torque range ( you can feel this when shifting form 2nd to 3rd ) and by overreving your lossing speed

Its actually about 7200 RPM.
Our tachs are slightly inaccurate. Mine is the same way.

racing tips.......
roll up ur window
(if the race is scheduled) lower down the front tire pressure.
turn off all the accesories even the radio.
put the vent to hot but dont turn on ur fan
launched at 3,500 rpm
shift at ur redline, there's no point of going all the way till u hit the fuel cut off ( u'll loose time by doing that) and hp curb line drops after redline. ( on some cars)

hope this helps...

thanks a lot man, but did u mean by launched at 3,500 rpm?

The FS-DE redlines at 6500.
I'd imagine that fuel cutoff is no more than 7000.

my bad, i had to go look to be sure, and it does redline at 7000rpms. i mean it starts going crazy at 7000rpms. it use to be 6500rpms, then i put that cam in, so now its 7000rpms. thanks for see my mistake. :wee:
