My Excellent Track Day Adventure
I was lucky to be awarded a 2 day drivers school at Watkings Glen by the Genesee Valley BMW Club for my work as a flagger for RSI at Watking Glen. I have to say it was an awsome experience. No racing per se, passing is only by permission.... the slower car must point the faster car by in certain passing zones.
It was satisfying to pass several BMWs and a Z06 corvette, and a couple of other 3's (one was a Speed3). We were all novices and the relative speed had more to do with driver comfort than anything else. I also got passed by many many BMWs and the odd Porsche...
My 3 with EBC Green Stuff pads and 75,000 miles on OEM suspension was just fine. Next time (and there will be a next time) I will upgrade the suspension. I had an absolute blast, foot to the floor, tires wailing...can't wait to do it again.
