Re: First Real Drag Races
Originally posted by Protege91LX So I went up to Bandimere racetrack, and I ran a best of 17.7@ 89 mph. I have cat-back and open air filter. I smoked a turbo civic, a civic ex sedan, and a civic si hatchback. It was quicker than I expected I was thinking of highs 18s or 19s. Plus I was at seven thousand and some odd feet above sea level. When I get my BPT I will be quicker. Thats gonna be fun. I wasnt disappointed at all. My car weighs in at 2530, with a half tank of gas and full interior. (thats translates to about 89 hp at the wheels and 116 at the crank) lol...now that is sad. WERE ARE YOU RACING AT, SLOW MO TRACK IVE RAN A 16.2@84 MPH 16.8@81 MPH 17.0@80 MPH 17.3@78 MPH OH WHAT DO YOU KNOW 17.7@78 MPH 60..... 2.515 330... 7.592 1/8.... 11.575 MPH 61.90 1000. 14.928 1/4.... 17.778 MPH 78.64 SHOW ME YOUR TIME SLIP  |
Originally posted by Protege91LX yeah i looked at my time slip, it was 77mph, not 89, my bad. Anyone can host pics for me becuz i want to post my pics for everyone to see. |
you have to realize that here in colorado the air is really thin, N/A cars suck balls here. The race track that I race at is 7800ft above sea level. Thats pretty harsh on the n/a 4 cylinder, basically stock. I think I did real well.

A sunroof car weighs 2550 lbs. stock, with a full tank. Mine weighed 2480 with a half tank and no spare, but with the floor mats and full glovebox. |

No they dont do any correction things. The race track is Bandimere Speedway, which is in Morrison, not Denver, about 25 miles from Denver. The 2530, was with me (180 lbs) and a 3/4 tank of gas. So Id say around 2300 w/o me in it. Not to bad. |

WTF, you ran 17 sec and still beat a FI Civic? That does not sound right at all.

yo yo yo i got a trap speed of 89 mph with my fucking 18.5 when my clutch decided to fully not engage...again, i dont know how i got a faster speed then, but it sucked my nutz cuz it was faster than my only decent runs trap speed
