First Real Drag Races

So I went up to Bandimere racetrack, and I ran a best of 17.7@ 89 mph. I have cat-back and open air filter. I smoked a turbo civic, a civic ex sedan, and a civic si hatchback. It was quicker than I expected I was thinking of highs 18s or 19s. Plus I was at seven thousand and some odd feet above sea level. When I get my BPT I will be quicker. Thats gonna be fun. I wasnt disappointed at all. My car weighs in at 2530, with a half tank of gas and full interior. (thats translates to about 89 hp at the wheels and 116 at the crank) lol...now that is sad.

That's pretty slow for a drag race, but not bad for the car you have. Atleast you had fun, right?

igdrasil July-2nd-2003 11:26 AM

that trap speed is for low 16 high 15.
What was your 60ft?

Phantom Cruiser July-2nd-2003 11:27 AM

89mph?

i ran a 16.8@81.5mph hmmmm.....something just doesn't seem right here.

You smoked a turbo civic with a 17.7 yikes! That is the slowest turbo civic i have ever heard of

igdrasil July-2nd-2003 12:03 PM

I did 97MPH in the 1/4mile but a shitty 15.1.

In my case, had a shitty launch plus clutch slip

For some odd reason I don't believe you.

Turbo civic running THAT slow....must be the REALLY bad driver

Protege91LX July-4th-2003 12:31 PM

it was time ttrials racing. He dialed in a 16.5 and ran an 18.5, how or why i dont know. And for everyone that dont believe me, i got time slips, wanna see??

Daniel Soucek July-8th-2003 01:40 AM

I would really like to see your time slip

cortez July-8th-2003 08:00 AM

That's high altitude for you...

Phantom Cruiser July-8th-2003 11:49 AM

perhaps the traps were 79mph???

midnightblue97 July-8th-2003 06:10 PM

I would think that a forced induction engine would do MUCH better than an NA engine which I can only assume is stock at 7000+ feet of altitude.

pro-slug 2003 July-12th-2003 03:00 PM

i dont believe the 89mph trap speed either. I trap at 80-81 and i run 16.6-17.0 1/4mile. I know the mazdaspeed protege traps at about 90-93mph

Protege91LX July-14th-2003 11:06 AM

yeah i looked at my time slip, it was 77mph, not 89, my bad. Anyone can host pics for me becuz i want to post my pics for everyone to see.
