I'd like to see a del sol with K24 and about 240hp.....oh wait, nevermind. It's the S2K....I guess I wouldn't like to see that.

Phantom Cruiser December-23rd-2004 03:28 PM

I haven't seen any runs by anyone with a new Si so I have no idea.

ghettopro December-23rd-2004 07:55 PM

Hey Rod, i was wondering you say youve taken down many Si's, do you think you could beat the CRX of my friends? hes raced countless cars and has never lost...that car is mad fast and if you think you could take him...youve got one fast ass car..

Roddimus Prime December-23rd-2004 09:14 PM

I doubt it.....the new Si's are real slow....I'm sure your friends tiny tiny hatchback would outrun my P5 unless Iwas womped......get me some of his times from the track and I'll tell you.

ghettopro December-23rd-2004 11:15 PM

Out of luck for track times becuase he is a street racer hes worse than i am but he has a decent list of kills also but that probably doesnt say much just a bunch of ricers he has killed like a 1.5 civic hatch with a fart can, 2004 RSX , V6 mustangs, you know..the basic stuff but he has also smoked me...

Roddimus Prime December-23rd-2004 11:26 PM

light weight + high rpm's (usually) = good street race.... low honda torque makes them crappy drag racers unless they are FI or built up pretty well.

ghettopro December-24th-2004 12:32 AM

no no no no no no , that CRX Si of my friends has torque out the @$$ It will Squeel/burn/smoke tires thru 4th gear... he has had $600 in fuel system work on it and fuel pressure reg. and some other stuff everything else is compltely STOCK except it is just straight pipe with a Tip on the end of it...

Roddimus Prime December-24th-2004 12:48 AM

no crx has ever had more torque than a stock protege. $600 in fuel system upgrades?? Well those are nice and all but why do you need fuel upgrades without excess air intake? Seems to me like you'd run too rich and end up hurting your performance.

If this kid is pulling tires in 4th geaer (highly doubt it due to gearing and lack of power) then he has the worst axle hop I've ever seen. Get me a video of that car smoking tires in 3rd gear and I'll be impressed.

ghettopro December-24th-2004 01:07 AM

Ill See what i can do..I also get a Video of a Corvette Smoking all the way to six...HINT HINT!!!

Roddimus Prime December-24th-2004 01:21 AM

i doubt that yet again....

your transmission is a torque multiplier... the lower gear the more it multiplies it....once you get above a 1:1 ratio you're actually dividing it...so there is no way a vette would "smoke tires" in 6th gear. It would need over 500whp and skinnys!

ghettopro December-24th-2004 01:24 AM

a C5 would..wouldnt it?

Roddimus Prime December-24th-2004 02:18 AM

i HIGHLY doubt it....motorcycles would have a hard time doing it.

like I said once you get in a gear above a 1:1 ratio you're DIVIDING torque....so you're cutting your power down a LOT over about 3rd gear. By the time you get to 5th gear (even in the protege) you're at less than 60% of 112lb/ft....hahaha, get the picture...

ghettopro December-24th-2004 11:55 AM

:zzzzz: I dont get it..

Roddimus Prime December-24th-2004 12:13 PM

ok ok ok.....your engine out of your car on a engine dyno may make 100lb/ft torque.....your tranmission has different gears in it and these gears take that torque and mutliply it so you can move a heavy object from a static position....like sitting still.

so the engine at 1:1 ratio makes 100lb/ft but if your first gear is 4:1 then you're making 400lb/ft. When you shift up to 2nd and 2:1 you're making 200lb/ft....3rd gear at 1:1 and you're at 100lb/ft .....4th gear is .75:1 so you're making 75lb/ft.......and 5th is .6:1 for 60lb/ft...

These are very generic numbers and not accurate but I'm trying to explain the theory of how it works. Before 1:1 you multiply your power....After 1:1 you divide it.

ghettopro December-24th-2004 12:15 PM

oooooh, ok I get it...thanks...but I cant leave a good friendly "arguement" ? go to waste...what if i put slick tires on the vette..wait...slick equals grip?...how aobut to useless almost no traction tires...how about that?
