94 protege vs. Nissan Xterra-who would win?
Ok, I have a completely stock 94 protege dx and this kid in school was talking smack to me about it. (I used to have an old Jeep truck and I sold it and he said that the pro sucks compared to it) So I had to challenge him-I don't like people making fun of the car I drive . The only thing I know about his car is that he says its stick and about 180-190 hp. From what I can tell he's gonna kick my ***. Any suggestions for racing this guy?

OK kids....Pro's are **** on quarter mile/streight line racing!!!
are cars are meant to go on a race track with lots of sharp turns!
you will probably lose in a streight line race
do yourself a favour and try and get a intake + sport exhaust if you can afford it, then you might have a chance...also take out everything you can in your car when you race...even your spare tire!

F' that you lose ****!!!!! According to the August 2002 edition of Car and Driver, the V6 Xterra runs the 1/4 in 17.9...probably a low to mid 70 MPH trap. My AT 1G runs those ets with a 78 mph trap. And Nightowl was right to a point...these cars are **** on the 1/4, but you should still beat him. I also read in a Aug or Nov 1992 Car and Driver that the Manual DX ran 16.9.
He may jump you off the line b/c the rear drive advantage, but you should walk him at the end of the track. You should still beat his *** even with 156,000 mile of normal wear on your cluch. His 180 HP is pulling prob over a 1000 or more pounds, so it'll be a sled. Don't even be intimidated by the numbers. Lower weight and aerodynamics are on your side.

Ahh dropping a new engine in to beat one car is kinda expensive
My altime favorite was:
My friends Datsun b210 vs. a rced out civic,
so we had this race set up, the guy with the datsun got one of his friends to stick a nail under the civics tire,
the civic drops his clutch, peels out and Boom! his tire completely explodes, that was a great moment in datsun history, the civic hardly made it off the line.
Just telling you this story, try doing that
