my friends probe definately "feels" heavier than my protege.... thats just me tho, plus the protege is pretty light..well the 99-00 ones at around 2400-2500 lbs so maybe the probe aint heavy, but it feels heavier to me when i was driving it....

but i do love the sound of that V6 tho

ya it does weigh a bit more than a protege, most of the curb weight's that are listed on websites are for the ATX which is considerably heavier than the MTX, a friend of mine weighed his MTX pgt at the track and it was like 2800 something lbs... with some minor weight reduction tho a lot of the guys get their cars pretty light... i wouldn't let the weight fool you tho, these cars handle great, with the eibachs and KYB's, along with the strut bars, this car sticks to the road, i dont even feel any body roll... on the skidplate stock PGT's put down .89 G's, which is pretty good lol...

if you wanted this car for auto-x we could work on the price a little bit, cus i doubt you'd want the nitrous, and a couple other things...

yeha i cant comment on the handling....

the only probe i have driven is my friends 93 probe gt

you can check in the kills section for the thread i made on it

he has cut stock springs....so the handling has been thrown out the window.... his car handles liek ****..... but i cant say anything about ones that have proper suspension upgrades.....

can't blame my friend tho, he bought the car with cut springs...so what can u do....

but it does feel faster than my car while driving.... but somehow i would beat him in a race.... dunt ask me... must be driver error , the guys a good guy tho, knwown him for years and years... actually 7 years... and i'm only 19

i like probes tho, at certain front angles, theres a resemblance to the 3rd gen RX-7 (my fav car of all time)

ya, probes share body lines with a lot of cars, i do like the way they look, and one day i'm sure i'll get another one... and ya i read your thread in the kills forum, even posted in it , lots of 2nd gens have been maintained pretty poorly, but one that has had proper maintance and still runs pretty well should post times in the mid-low 15's... and ya, my car handles like its on rails, i've scared people going on and off the ramps on highways but afterwards they always comment on the fact that even tho we went into the turn much faster than they felt comfortable with, the car never felt like it was losing control...
