Should I go for it?

I saw this paint job on the 1.8L from taiwan and loved it and think it'll go well with my black hood, what do you think? I'm not sure what I'd like to do with the rear bumper, if I should carry the stripes through or what.... Give me advice and feedback!

BTW, this is a Photoshopped concepts rendition...

so do you let your wife make all your decisions??

ummm i'm gonna have to say no. maybe if you mimicked the lower front grille and did three black stripes lined up with that but i still don't think i would like it. but remember one thing. it's your car. if you like it and you'll be happy with it then do it.

*edit* taking a second look at it, if you decide to do it then i would suggest removing the side moldings. actually i would suggest it anyway. it would give the car a cleaner look

Yeah, not too big on the stripes. It looks a little busy to me.

You have to be careful with naming threads "should I go for it?" ... Before opening up the thread, I was deeply afraid that yet another one of our members was using poor judgement in deciding to ditch a Protege for some jacked up truck with Yosemite Sam mud flaps on it. Especially you, FlyinHawaiian071. You've got a cool car, so I am thanking my lucky stars here. That one kid from Vancouver, now I can understand what was going on there. In British Columbia, those peyote mushrooms grow in every cow pie, and I just assumed he signed the title after a binge out in the pasture.

Ain't it the truth, you shameless threadjackers!

Anyway, back on topic, I'm only giving my personal opinion 'cause you asked for it:

You car is so sweet looking already, I'd hate for you to change it. I do like a well-placed stripe, however, but not along the bottom like in your photo.

awesome guys, that's the feedback that I was looking for, yeah it is MY car, but we all want to know what other people think of it. I acgrr on the busy part of it, sometimes I look at it and like the stripes, and sometimes I hate it with them. I love it ALL the time without them, so thanks guys... BTW, Juddz, happy to get your heart pumping, you need a little adrenaline rushing once in a while.

That's exactly what the Canadian guys say about their mushroom habit.

Im tellin ya man run 3 strips, that follow that gaps in the bumper, and have them fade out to around the back of the door. A square fade would look cool, like have it break into squares.

Definetly dont have the lines going throught the rear bumper, that kills it.

well time to get some BWC input in

you see man, without the stripes, i liek ure car all the time, its nice and clean... but with the stripes sometines i liek it, sometiems i don't.... i think i liek the three stripe one with the fade a little more than the two stripe one....

i think the taiwan pro made the stripes work cuz of the color of his car....... yeah when i saw the taiwan pro, i noticed those stripes too, and i thought they were cool, cuz they do look good on his car...

but hmmm i think u may need to take the side moldings off to get the stripes to look good, photochop them off...see how its goes, and definately u want it to fade further back

Yeah, I had them fading further back, but I kinda f-ed up and couldn't go back so that's what came out... I don't think I'm gonna go for the stripes... I might as well put that money into my turbo kit and all...
