my roomate has a 4 door 96 cavy, we put some eibach springs on it that SLAMMED it to the ground, its rediculous, and we just picked up a 5 speed for it so when we get a chance in a couple months we will be doing a tranny swap, should be a nice little car...

i know, and i agree with you there, but the thing is, do you really think these guys are taking their cars over a 120mph limit so much, that they need the wing.... heck i cant even hit those speeds (118mph is my governors max) and even then i felt pretty solid...

RX-7s (RWD) make use of them at speeds of 120+mph, they feel more planted with a wing, even tho there are guys without wings that have hit 160+mph in RX-7s....

like the reason why i got my stereotype for wings is that i see alotta civics and cavys and stuff that have big wings, but i bet most of them rarely even see over 100mph
i even rarely see over 100mph in my car

thats why i got that stereotype...... if the car has the power and runs at the speeds (be it fwd, rwd, awd, 4wd) where a wing is needed, then by all means, put one on, and cuz it has the power to back it up, its all good

its liek the debate, "show" vs "go," which mods to do first, i'm more into the go part of it... so thas why when i see something i want it to be funtional or atleast be able to back up the stance it puts out to the crowd

I agree that cavys are not the most pretty thing in the world but I advise all of us to watch out for the ecotecs that come in the relatively new ones. Those are no joke they are quick rite from the factory at least my friend thomas's is. he ran a 10.1 stock and kept on doing it and my nuts got smaller and smaller every time he did it. ooooh!!!!!!!!!! that night sucked at least that part did. And I mean 10.1 in the eighth mile.

yes, all correct, i just hear the "wings dont help FWD cars ever" comments WAY to much from people that have no idea what they are talking about, and usually they back it up with "well FWD cars dont need downforce on the rear wheels for launching, only RWD does", and thats what just makes me cry ... and personally i have seen well over 120 mph in quite a few stockish (minor bolt ons, some bone stock) cars...

and most of the "show" double stack aluminum wings dont even produce much downforce at all, because they weren't designed for that, they were designed to look cool, so even if it WAS on there for function it wouldn't even do its job properly :P... nice response, defintily a breathe of fresh air from most of the BS i read on the internet haha...
