Honestly I beleve she she\ould get the book thrown at her, I bought my car and within 5 days I had a hit and run dent my trunk (I was hit from the rear a few months later and they fixed it all up at the same time) and within 2 months, 5 hits all in the rear, ALL HIT AND RUNS. I dont drive to work, I use the subway (IMPOSIBLE TO FIND Parking, and to park in the building is $280.00 a month) and I have to leave my car parked on the street. Its a REAL BITCH to go to your car find it dented and not have someone to break apart. (It would almost (ALMOST) be worth it if I could catch them................oohhhhhhhh how much fun that would be.

THROW THE BOOK AT HER I BET THIS IS NOT THE FIST TIME SHE HIT SOMEONE ELSE IM SURE, and LOOKING AT THE DAMMAGE, SHE MUST OF BEEN A REAL (**** cap locks were on, forget about that) Idiot

damn man, that sucks... thats deffinatly a hit and run.. you should have asked who she was gonna call ( and before she came, shoud've taken them plates off, and keep them in your custedy) then ask her what plate #'s she was going to use. if its identical, you'd be able to believe that she was gonna call..

this has happend to my sister. she came out of her job place and saw her car dented on its rear.. called it in, filled report. they found hiter that ran. before they came to house, off came the plates.. hitter and runner didn't even glance at the plates when they hit the car

well she wrote it down on a coupon - so she could really have meant to call, or my mom theorized that she probably wrote it down incase she was found out and then had something to show that she intended to report it.

update! bumper repaired!

well the other lady's insurance paid for the parts that were damaged and the labor. that means the bumper cover, headlight, grille, paint & install was replaced at no charge to me. however i had to pay out of pocket for the rest. finally turned this pain in the neck around and got something out of it. no fogs to save some $$$. the installer left the harnesses for another time. i have to call them and see if they still have the ES fogs, might try to sell those and put that towards mp3/msp fogs. i bought rickman's used protege5 front license plate bracket and i hope it fits cuz they had to screw the plate directly on the bumper. other than that im pleased with the results. now i have to wait for nascar05's side skirts ^_^

some quick pics:

thanks goes to this thread over at msprotege.com: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23762 for the parts list and part numbers. btw, anyone know how to aim the headlights? thanks.

they usually say drive your car (facing a wall) park about 10 feet in front of wall (car is facing wall) then you would haveto pop the hood, turn lights on (be sure to draw a box of where you would like you lights to piont) and there should be a twisty thingy behind the bolb and wires, in which you would turn with a phillups screwdriver, thus turning the light bolb itself and changing the direction of the light produced..

when i 1st got the car back i noticed some glue on the headlights when i opened the hood to take a look at the bumper install. i thought it looked odd, but didnt think anything serious of it. when i brought the car to the dealer to adjust the headlights they told me that my passenger headlamp housing had been glued back together and they didnt want to adjust it past a certain point because it might cause more stress on the headlamp at the glued sections. holy crap, what else could go wrong. the dealership suggested that the body shop might have glued it together to save on parts rather than order a new headlamp ($157). i think the body shop shouldve called the lady's insurance to get them to reimburse me. gonna ask the body shop about it as soon as i get some free time.

Here in Washington that is considered felony hit and run punishable by $5000 plus the state requires the defendent or their insurance to pay for any damages as well as any medical fees that you inccur.they will also revoke their license for 7years. It is not considered Hit and run however if you leve a note explaining what happend as well as your drivers license number and info on how to contact them. If they do not respond to any atempts to contact them then it is considered a hit and run. Also if the defenant in the hit and run is for any reason unable to pay ALL of the fees they will get 4years probation for witch they will have to pay all fees within that time. If for any reason they have not payed their debt in full by the end of their probation they can be imprisoned for a maximum of 2 years. If this happens the govenment will give you comensation far any remaining damages.

looks like we exchanged insurance information and filed the claim & police report before the 24 hours, which means that it LEGALLY wasnt a hit & run. it wouldve been damn fine to put that woman in jail (take that insurance companies who make females pay lower premium than males) but at least i got an msp/mp3 conversion out of it.
