bingo...
its the Toyota 4AGE 20Valve..
similar block to the MR2, but not exactly... close enough though...
130Kw from 1.6 litres... no turbo or NOS in sight... Blue
(Its from out of the Toyota Trueno -JDM only...)

yeah, it does have 5 valves per cylinder... 3 inlet valves and 2 exhaust valves, with Variable Valve Timing on the inlet cam...
its also got lightweight rods & pistons and is capable of revving to 9000 rpm...
i havent run it down the 1/4 yet, so i havent got any times... but I'm able to keep up with R33 Skyline GTS-T's (2.5L turbo) and stomped a CA18 turbo powered S13 Nissan Silvia... (i cant think of any other cars ive beaten that you guys might know about... you dont seem to get all that many good performance cars in the US... : ) i havent raced an Integra Type-R yet... but i smacked a Civic VTi-R into next week though...
but my best mates Protege Gen 3 can keep up with me through first gear though...

in factory trim:
165 hp @ 7800 rpm.
but ive done a couple of little bits 'n' pieces...
Ceramic coated 4-2-1 extractors into a 2 1/4" system w hi-flow cat and straight thru stainless muffler
Microtech MTX-8L Computer
Custom made 65mm alloy bellmouthed ram-tubes on the factory quad-throttle body inlet manifold w/ Unifilter filter socks
Blah blah blah...
so now, I'm pushing a tiny bit more at 175hp at the flywheel
and rev cut is enabled at a conservative 9000rpm...

the MAN,
you know your stuff...
it is from th AE-101 Trueno, but its not the VVTi version... that came later in the AE-111, and is known as the "Blacktop". mine's known as the "Silvertop". its got VVT (no "i" on the end) on the inlet cam, thats all...
the AW11 MR2 had a totally different chassis than the AE-85/AE-86 Corolla's (i drive an AE-86)...
the corolla's all use an 'E' chassis, the MR2 a 'W' chassis... the Corolla's are all front engined, but the MR2 is mid-mounted...
but you guys were lucky with the supercharged AW11... no-one else got that car except the U.S....
my car would be known in the U.S. as the Toyota Corolla GT-S... but looks different to the ones you've got there... i got fixed headlights... Over here in Australia it's called Toyota Sprinter...
wondering what I'm doing on a Mazda 323 forum??
me too...

I think you just like to show off! Got any pics of the exterior of your AE86?
BTW, I used to own an 87 AE-86 GT-S, great car. Fun, reliable and best of all RWD! Traded it for my SW20 a couple of years ago. Have to admit I like the 20 wayyyy more, of course my AE86 did not have the benefit of a swapped 20V.

Kris,
nah, actually one of my best mates just recently bought a Protege and mentioned this forum to me, so i thought I'd take a look... i need to see what other guys are doing to the Protege, because he's gonna come to me asking me to modify his car in some way (he's a bit "mechanically inept", if you know what i mean ) and i wanna know what the deal is before i start pulling things apart...
heres a couple more pics of my car (and yes, i think you're right, i am a bit of a show-off... but i love my car!! )

ThaMAN,
thanks bro...
is that the AE-85 youre talking about??
they had the 4A-C or the 3A-U.... both pieces ot ****....
apparently, genuine AE-86 GT-S's are getting pretty hard to come by in the US these days & are getting more & more expensive for good examples with low miles...
oh well, i hope you find a nice one...
