well got some blackfire wheel and tire cleaner and it was a good weekend to try it out. my wheels weren't significantly dirty, but i wanted to do it right--remove the wheels and clean both sides figuring it'd be a good test for the cleaner.
my wheels use muteki lugnuts, and it requres a lugnut adapter to remove/install them. tried to remove the lugnuts...well this is the result of shop machine tightening vs. lugnut adapter and 90 lbs weakling:
why dont they just hand tighten it? what if i was on the road and got a flat? ugh. gonna try to buy a replacement at AutoRND, the place where i bought my wheels and tires.

It sucks, I know. I wish I had a place/money for my own lift to make things easier. Every time I need to pull a wheel I nearly break my back trying to get the lugnuts off. All because the tire places don't want to hand-tighten them. When I swapped out my front pads a few month ago I discovered one of my lugnuts was cross-threaded. Stupid bastards.

Whoa! Everytime I go to the tire shop and there's a need to take the wheels off, I always make sure and tell 'em to hand-loosen and hand tighten 'em.
I only go to one place so I don't have a problem with that and they know by now to always use their hands to tighten them.

it is a chip. i dunno, i dont wanna buy another wheel. i already get pissed off everytime something happens to my car...im tired of trying so hard to keep the car in good shape, i should've just bought an old chevy nova and be done with it. i'll just concentrate on getting a replacement key.

Dang, those wheels look really nice (in spite of the chip). I like the design a lot. Maybe you could find a bottle of touch-up paint for cars in that dark gray color...something in me says Mercedes Benz would have a color verrrry similar to that on the cars they sell/sold before. Just my thought.

I was just trying to point that black paint and gun metal are more alike than silver and gun metal, you know give a temporaly solution, for the "problem" and ofcourse the only way to correct it its to give a touch up with the original paint, or if you are a real neatness freak, re-do all the paint in the rim, if i were you, Ill be more worried about the rust, than that very very tiny scratch.

well if i was gonna get it repaired, there is a ton of curb rash on the polished lip of a few of the wheels. i'd wanna get that fixed too. black nail polish isnt a bad idea, just wouldnt match too well. luckily the rust is just on the hub, not on the wheels...and if i could get the darn wheels off without taking off chunks of the wheel then i'd try to address the rust too.
i ordered a new lugnut adapter. next oil change im gonna ask for a rotation and specifically request they retorque it by hand.
