1 Attachment(s)
Hi:

I'd like to find out if anyone is interested to purchase a pair of custom made AL6061-T6 adjustable cam gear for FS/FP motor (mazdaspeed protege, protege es, mp5,m6x, 626).
If i have enough people interested , i'll go ahead and proceed. Stock pulley bar will be enough for 8 pieces. But, i can do more..if these is demand

Target price will be from US200-US250 per pair. Potentially can go lower with more orders. :bigthumb:
Payment : pre-paid via PAYPALL
Delivery : via EMS from Malaysia.. (US$35)
leadtime: 3 weeks ARO
Color : Blue anodized (gear) and Magenta Anodized (insert)
adjustable range: +10 thru -10 degrees
Material : AL6061-T6

See the pic. This is the cad model of the cam gear.

That's a nice target price, much better than the SR motorsports price as you must know.

Do you know if the shop has a way to get around problems with the magnetic cam position sensor that is over the exhaust gear? I know a shop in the US that was trying to design them had problems.

authorized vendor?? Anyone else leery of sending money to Malaysia?

_Kansei_ June-24th-2007 12:44 PM

^^ he's pretty active on the 'other' forum, I recognize the name and the absolutely sweet lookin car.

If ford had sold the Lynx RS on here instead of the Focus.. yeah that would have been awwwesome.

kasmankk June-24th-2007 12:46 PM

i'm not exactly a vendor

i'm a regular member. not a vendor. machine shop is fee is much cheeper here. i just thought i could help. if i were to get authorized, how to do it?

Roddimus Prime June-24th-2007 01:28 PM

I'll have to check with the forum owner. Overseas vendors is something not highly recommended because of the lack of legal options in case the vendor should steal the money (not saying you would...but it's happened).

I don't see a problem with doing it as long as all buyers are aware of the risks.

You will need to send me a pm with your full name, physical and mailing address a contact phone number and an email address.

When you post items for sale it helps to post actual pictures of the products to be sold.

Good luck with it. Adjustable cam gears would be pretty beneficial...especially to those of us with j-spec cams.

mmm I <3 my j-spec intake cam.

kasmankk -- Do you know if I could maybe assemble the exhaust gear such that I could use a cam pinned as an intake cam there? I've heard that the standard USDM intake cam, repinned for use as an exhaust cam, is nearly identical to either the JDM exhaust cam or the Mazdaspeed (impossible to find) exhaust cam. I'd have to research to make sure this wouldn't cause excess overlap since I'm turboed, but it would be good to know. The way that cad diagram looks, I could rotate the whole inner piece 90, 180, or 270 degrees, then from there have -10 to +10 degree adjustment.. I just haven't had my cam gears exposed recently enough to remember if the exhaust cam pinning is just 180 degrees off or something.

Is the intake/exhaust gear the same piece? That would answer my question right there :)

Same price and identical. I have to check if it possible to do that. the cam flags will be 180deg phase shifted. I'll get back to you on this. And by the way, i do have 2 pairs of JDM cams. are u interested? send me PM.

Cam Gear is here. Can place order now..

4 Attachment(s)
Pls check out the pics below.
The gear will be BLACK HARD ANODIZED (no options)
The insert will be Gold Anodized, other colors (blue, red) also available but i'd recommend to stick to one color so that it will be easier to be made , and better pricing.

As for the degree indicator, for the unit that you will be getting, it will be done with laser or silk screening process or engraving. It will be in white color, so that it is visible. FYI, on this unit, it was done with CNC, therefore cannot get very good resolution.

The screw thread is using Stainless steel heli-coil. This is to ensure the thread will not be damaged .

The Cam sensor flag on the cam gear, will be using chrome plated sockethead bolt. I have not install them yet on this.

I've done a test fit on the engine (on my other engine). Everything fit perfectly. I'll try to install this on my car this weekend.

1 pair will be US245
Payment : pre-paid via PAYPAL (kasmankamis@yahoo.com)
Delivery : via EMS from Malaysia.. (US$35)
leadtime: 3-4 weeks ARO
adjustable range: +10 thru -10 degrees
Material : AL6061-T6

if you are interested, pls write you name and choice of insert color below:
I wish to conclude this in 2 weeks time.
