I was getting onto an expressway onramp when the guy in front of me slammed his brakes. By the time I reacted I was too close, wheels lock up, booom....


Rear-ended a 1994 Toyota 4Runner

The 4Runner had some small dents on his big metal bumper and that was about it.

Fucking gay.

On a lighter note, the body shop is going to pick up my car tomorrow and I should have it back in a week or two.

any engine or suspention damage???....for your sake i hope not :(

My AC line snapped right off of the radiator, other than that I drove the car around for a while and it felt fine. Visually there was no engine or suspension damage, but who knows ??

Really sorry that happened:( I had a hard time being without my pro last year.

Thats why I always use the 2 secs. rule.;)

I just got back from the body shop that's gonna do the work.

Their preliminary estimate was at $6700 :eek: :eek: :eek:

Damn car crumpled up like a cookie :mad:

To top it all off the body shop said that it will take them at least 10 business days to do the work AFTER they get an insurance agent out there. So 3-4 weeks till I have my baby back :crying:

That really sucks. It is always hard not having the Protege for awhile. Was that your first wreck?

Yeah, it's like the car is made out of cardboard. My right headlight was turned into sand. I will need a new front bumper, grille, headlight, radiator, radiator support, fan assembly, cooling reservoir assembly, new AC condenser, new right fender, new washer fluid reservoir assemblyl, and a whole bunch o' paint.

Labor charges are a bitch.

I might complain that the Protege crumpled up, but I'd rather the car broke into a thousand pieces than my spine :)

Good luck with the repairs. Make sure you get some history on the body shop. I had a drunk guy drive right into my nose when it was parked out in front of my place one night. It took forever for the insurance to get it into the shop, and then the shop they sent me to did a fuckin' HACK job. They should have replaced the fender but didn't, scratched my brand new front bumper cover and then hid it under the winter bra, didn't even tighten all the screws or aim the new headlight, and a bunch of other stupid little things........and people ask my why I don't like to let anyone work on my car :rant:
