ugh, this one woman i work with always calls me with computer "problems." 90% of the time she's accidentaly hidden her toolbars or quick launch bars and doesnt know how to get it back. how hard is it to click on the start button and click your program that way! and she's always asking for help with excel. asking me to solve world hunger with it, when the fact is that excel is not a robust program for anything other than number crunching. half the time she doesnt even know what she wants my help with. most recently her office got moved into a cubicle and the position of the cubicle has her back to the entrance. she doesnt like having her back to the door, i guess cuz she doesnt like to be caught with anything on her monitor. hell my back is to the entrance you dont see me complaining about it. so she gave some sithfit about not having enough space and she needed a new desk to face the door. well office furniture isnt cheap, and she orders an extension for her cubicle so she has desk space on all 3 sides, hell everybody else only has 1 or 2 desks in their cubicle. we had to move other people in the office & their cubicles around to accomodate for her greedy ***. after the furniture movers and i were done, we were in another part of the building and one of them asked, "do you have to work over in that office?" and i said yea and he said "i feel sorry for you." but like all my jobs, i get along with her because i have to work with her. there have been FAR worse people in the retail jobs i've worked at.

ha! sounds like were i work! surrounded by them!
people been here 10, 15, 20+ years asking ME questions (i've been her 3+ years)
... and I know of at least one that thinks that if you delete the icon on the desktop, the program has been removed!... i could go on all day... i mean geez, you work for a design company, think you would know the basics... and thats not even mentioning the ones that dont know crap about Quark (the main program we use) - "I cant get my guides to appear, and U worked on it last, what did you do to them special" ... umm i hit F7? (hide/show guides...) - anyway, all this and i cant even see the picture above

*shrugs...quark. quark wouldnt be so bad, if my fingers werent embedded with the training of adobe shortcut keys. and unfortunately i always have to save as EPS or PDF cuz it wasnt built for portability. i just wish i got to use it more often on a day-to-day basis.

mainly web design. so i usually stick with photoshop/illus. once in a while they'll ask me to do a brochure or flier or something and i'll have to blow the dust off quark and give it the old college try. but i also do IT for where i work, so i'm up and about the office most of the day when i'm not surfing mazda3club.com ^_^ thats where the fun coworkers begin.

then again i shouldnt complain. i've been just as bad. when one of the new clients couldnt access their webspace for editing, i deleted the website in IIS and the web folder it was associated with...not thinking the programmer had already started work on it. i recreated the website in IIS and the client got it working again, but a few days later the programmer started cursing in the cubicle over me. i over hear her calling the client and asking him if he had deleted anything or backed up the website or anything and i got up from my seat and peeked above the cubicle wall and said "...i may have something to do with that. i'm gonna start running in the opposite direction for about an hour" i had deleted 3 mo. of work she did on the client's website and she had a conniption. after half a year of not smoking she said "thats it! i need a cigarette!" & got up and went out for a cigarette hehe.
