allright, who makes 100 g's a year?? And why aren't you buying me a turbo?

KpaBap May-15th-2003 01:15 PM

I have 2 jobs and I make $10/hr at one and $20/hr at the other. Working about 25 hrs/wk at one job and 15 hrs/wk at the other... Comes out to about $1800/mo after taxes.

I would say I make about $20k a year.

Not bad for a 17-year old still in high school.

Bruce95fmla May-15th-2003 04:02 PM

Well, I already lost, hehe... Probably above average of other 20 year olds, enough to live comfertably enough... But still not nearly enough for all the cool stuff I want :D

[edit]

Oh yea, enough to be able to get a KL-ZE with some other goodies by this time next year... Or so I hope, I'm already $560 there! All I need is another $3500 or so, and I should be able to get the swap, exhaust, intake, performance clutch, 4 wheel mx-6 discs, and anything else that I might need I'm hoping! :D :D :D

like my sig used to say , NO CAR PAYMENTS ARE SWEET

itzkcatz May-15th-2003 09:42 PM

She would rather have 800 dollar rocking chairs then a 60 thousand dollar car.

Well it depends if I'm back home in Alaska or if I'm here in Denver working at the Ducati/Triumph/Moto Guzzi dealership as a tech.

If I'm here in Denver working at the bike shop I make around 45K a year. If I'm in Alaska (this summer) I can make upwards of 200K fishing in less than 3 months. I do it every year. I voted in the 100K club. I don't just have the 323 GTX as a few of you know, I have SEVERAL other cars and bikes and 4 wheelers and snowmachines, etc. If you saw me or even talked to me you wouldn't think it though. I'm not a dick like your typical 23 yr old rich kid with daddies money.

OH...My....God.... I envy you so much. What other cars and bikes do you have?

ryanman May-15th-2003 11:43 PM

Cars- 90 GST Eclipse-11.9's, 91 Automatic GSX Eclipse-13.1@105mph, 91 5spd GSX "stock" 14.3@96mph, 86 Camaro, 91 RS Camaro, 92 B4C Camaro (ex cop car), 89 5.0 Mustang, 68 Chevy p/u that I restored, 02 Lightning (2500 miles on it), 03 Cobra (7 miles on it), and now the 88 GTX hatchback. Thats my collection right now. I've owned many other cars but I get tired of them after a while and sell em off. Only cars I have here in Colorado are the 91 GSX 5 spd and the Mazda GTX. All the others are in Alaska at my house or in Texas at my parents house.

Bikes- 98 YZ125 w/ a RPM 167 big bore kit and EVERY Pro Circuit part available for it.
98 YZ400 with all Pro Circuit parts on it.
93 Honda 900RR with a 945 kit in it. 153 hp AT the rear wheel. It's a show bike with around $20K in parts and work done to it.
Ordered a Ducati 999R. Should be here soon.

4 Wheelers- 4 honda 250R's, 2 Yamaha Banshee's, Polaris Scrambler 500, Honda 400 EX, lots of mods done to them all.

Snowmachines- Yamaha Mountain Max 700 Triple, Ski Doo Mach 1

KYREDP5 May-16th-2003 04:02 AM

20 years old, 12.00/hour and (4) $500 to $700 bonuses throughout the year = $27000/year. Not too bad for my age.

99Silverbullet May-16th-2003 09:40 AM

25 yrs old.

Accountant for a public utility: 52K
Bartend Thur/Friday/Sat: 21K

Total 73K (And no Freetime)

I am getting Married in August and my Fiances parents are getting divorced so WE are paying for everything. I want to pay cash for everything and right now our budget is 15K for the Wedding + 6K for the Honeymoon (not including airfare I used Frequent Flier miles .... going first class to Australia). Sucks that we have no free time, but I don't want to get into debt. Only $2100 short of the 21K budget. In the long run we will look back and say it was worth it.

I thought about just selling the Mustang to pay for most of it, but then I came to my sences!

LOS-323 May-16th-2003 10:06 AM

I make about $ 34,000 USD a year. But I only pay 18% in taxes... and I'm already in the highest tax level. :-)

Bruce95fmla May-16th-2003 01:59 PM

Why not skip the 21k debt and just buy a 3 family house rent it out and take vacations of the profit .....
Rent is a big thing in NYC , Very Expensive , Apartments are , now a days ......
just my opinion , no offense ment..
At anyrate enjoy yourself

I have to say that is a very good collection .. I would love to get a bike, but to be honest , I am a extremest and therefore won't set foot onto one .. I sware I have Sobe Adrenaline for blood, and I know that if I got a motorcycle I probably would not live past that summer... or I would seriously hurt myself. So I stay away, I guess it will be semi fast Protege's ....
I'm currently building a Turbo Protege and a Soon to be GTX or GTR 90's 323
we will see

I am 17 and a senior in High School, going to college this August and I work two jobs.

$7 an hour at the local movie theater
$6 an hour reffing at the local paintball field

I'd say I make around $5 grand a year :dunno:

islandpro May-16th-2003 03:03 PM

well i havent worked since feb. On unemployment and going to school. starting my intership this monday at Walnut telco (a small telephone office) as an IR tech for the summer making 9.50 and hour. should have fun playing with the outside plant, doing DSL installs, and hopfully some switch operations. one thing i have come to understand is a difference between the datacom world and the telecom world. Is that when updating the telephone network at anytime you cant just take it down or reboot it so to speak. peoples lives depend on that network. I love my new field of study. here is the college im going to if anyone wants to see. its an great program and couldnt ask for better teachers.

http://www.dmaccwest.org/opening.htm then goto Courses & Programs then to telcom
anyway sorry to get off topic

I bought my first house at 22. Renting houses in Tulsa is OK, but I can make more money buy neglected houses, fixing them up and reselling them.

In Tulsa a 3 bedroom 2 bath house goes for 75-150 depending on area and condition. They only rent for 600-800 a month.

After Property taxes, insurance, and maintinence I would be lucky to clear 6K a year then after rent income even less.

Single Family homes do not generate alot of income in a state where the cost of living is so low. Tulsa has a very low cost of living.

99Silverbullet May-16th-2003 03:14 PM

We are in the process of Buying a house right now that has a tax lien on it to fix up and sell. Just takes some work and time. We are going to wait until after the Wedding and the Honeymoon to start that big of a project. I work 45 hours a week as an accountant alone which doesn't leave alot of time to maintain 2 houses. Plus night school for my MBA.

For being 25 and having: 3 Cars, 1 house, and No debt I think I am doing just fine on my financial planning. I could spend less on the wedding and honeymoon, but it only happens once in your life and I want it to be good. Yes it is alot of money, but it would be different if I was driving a 89 corrola and lived in an apartment.

Darin May-16th-2003 04:08 PM

My salary is public information - sort of.

If people care, I am a GS11 for the Dept of the Army. :D

My wife's salary? You can ask her.

akaveli May-16th-2003 10:31 PM

shyyyyt. I'm broke. as we speak I'm makin 8.5 an hour. LoL To me that is alot of money. LoL

Funky Buddha May-16th-2003 11:37 PM

I made 36G's before taxes. Not too bad for being 23 and no degree. I just have a technical diploma. Currently doing tech support for a call centre.

Sir Nuke May-17th-2003 02:47 AM

well I will just say I am in the upper catagories.....and if we count my wifes income too...well then I voted in the wrong catagory...that would put me in the top one.. :{D one of you said
"why would anyone that made over 50K drive a Protege"....well its simple....cause they are great cars...and a true blast to drive...and its why I baught TWO..one for me to play with...and one for my wife.

My P5 is my toy....I have a truck that is my daily driver....and then there is my Harley for pretty days as well.

icynelly May-17th-2003 09:07 AM

well you have a point. As long as you got more then one car. Having two pros and harleys and all can make up for it. I meant if you had JUST the protege and making a shit load of money.

MinnowGT May-19th-2003 10:53 AM

well I'm not the top choice but close.

and the p5 is my commuter and I gots the jeep for offroading.

Modding 2 cars, owning a house in socal and having lots of
gadgets and poor financial planning in my youth = no extra
money until I work off my debt. I think I owe more money
to my CCs than the average salary listed. :(

I have just the Pro and I make a shit load of money (not counting the F150 that I never drive and doesn't cost me a dime anymore). My wife and I have 1 car for daily driving (that will change as soon as she makes up her damn mind). We are just saving so we can buy a really nice house, two really nice cars, keep paying for my expensive technology habits, and have a butt-load of money saved up for retirement and starting our own business (it is really damn expensive to start a business, I want a couple hundred G's in the bank before we try it).

ZoomZoomH May-19th-2003 11:44 AM

hmm seems like we have quite a balance of earning powers across the board.
