Traffic sucks

ANyone here who lives in Orange/LA County knows about the traffic here in Southern CA. Does anyone have trouble driving their manual in first gear in traffic? I get a lot of jerking when I am cruising around 5-12 mph. I know I t happens in all cars but it seems more noticable in mine. Does anyone have this same problem? It is very tiring on your leg to keep pushing the clutch in and out.

That's why the call it Rush Hour... everybody's in a hurry, but nobody's moving!! I put up with it every day and yeah, it gets annoying. There's plenty of days I wish I had an automatic... but it doesn't justify the days when you can let loose and make the best of a stick!!!

Yeah dude, i think they call it "bunny hopping" how the P5 is so damn jumpy in 1st gear. I've learned to be REALLY REALLY sensitive on the gas pedal so it doesnt do that, and i've also learned to clutch a hell of a lot more than normal.

Yes lots of traffic.
I live in So Cal also, and my car stumbles at low speeds.

If you get your car into second gear right after you get your car initially moving, you should not have this hopping problem. You can almost come to a stop with out the car stalling.....It might be better for the engine and transmission without all that jerkiness (along with you and the funny looks that people might be giving you when they see your car in this motion you are talking about).....this problem happens in almost all 5-speeds that I have driven.

I was told to get the car out of fisrt gear as fast as you could to eliminate this problem.
