'Tis The Season To Pull E-Brakes!

Just a little note that it's getting to be icy out there, so just be careful during the daily drifting sessions and the friday nights in mall parking lots. Don't bend your cars, and stay safe!

Dude, where are you driving in Calgary? It was like +10 C today!! Hahaha!!

:D

Maxx Mazda December-1st-2002 11:40 PM

True, but the snow's on the way this week!

Besides, who says you need ice to "buss an E?" LOL!

Huh. Don't remind me. I was having fun pulling my e-brake last year until I got distracted and slammed into a pole. Did $4000 worth of damage. No car for 2 weeks.

Just wondering about the e-brake thing...I've heard in the winter that sometimes it can freeze the brake lines, so when you put the lever down, it is actually still engaged. Is this true?

when i got to my college yesterday night, I noticed that the parking lot I park in had like 1" snow and ice mixture on it.

I sped up to 30mph, pulled the Ebrake, put it in reverse, and spun it around again, and pulled hte ebrak one last time.

I ended up doing a 540!!!!!!! that shit was TIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTTTT

you should try it, but make sure the ground is totally covered wth ice or snow or you could rip your chassis out from under ya.

Yo Wil, what college do you go to?

hiredgoon December-3rd-2002 11:24 AM

I use my e-brake for what the name says...emegency

If I feel I'm not going to make a corner, yoink the e-brake and she straightens right out

I caught an edge yesterday and if I hadnt used my e-brake I would have been in the ditch.

It's not supposed to be a toy...if you learn how to use it properly, it's a great tool.

BTW we got at least 6-8 inches of the crap and it dropped to negative 18 last night...best part is, my furnace is out of commission and it is now 12C in the house...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Maxx Mazda December-3rd-2002 12:06 PM

Hiredgoon,

If you only use your E-Brake in an emergency, that means it doesn't get used much, if at all. It's bad practice not to use it, as the cables will become brittle and could break when you need it the most. Having an MTX, I use it all lthe time. If you have an auto, that shouldn't stop you though. My girlfriend drives an auto P5 and uses her's all the time.

Besides, who says it's not a toy? It's ok to have a little SAFE fun once in awhile!

I have a manual tranny...so yeah I do use it to park if I am leaving my car running.
