Huh. Don't remind me. I was having fun pulling my e-brake last year until I got distracted and slammed into a pole. Did $4000 worth of damage. No car for 2 weeks.:mad:

Just wondering about the e-brake thing...I've heard in the winter that sometimes it can freeze the brake lines, so when you put the lever down, it is actually still engaged. Is this true?

Only if you never use your E regurlarly...

I use my e-brake for what the name says...emegency

If I feel I'm not going to make a corner, yoink the e-brake and she straightens right out

I caught an edge yesterday and if I hadnt used my e-brake I would have been in the ditch.

It's not supposed to be a toy...if you learn how to use it properly, it's a great tool.

BTW we got at least 6-8 inches of the crap and it dropped to negative 18 last night...best part is, my furnace is out of commission and it is now 12C in the house...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

If you only use your E-Brake in an emergency, that means it doesn't get used much, if at all. It's bad practice not to use it, as the cables will become brittle and could break when you need it the most. Having an MTX, I use it all lthe time. If you have an auto, that shouldn't stop you though. My girlfriend drives an auto P5 and uses her's all the time.

Besides, who says it's not a toy? It's ok to have a little SAFE fun once in awhile! :cool:

I have a manual tranny...so yeah I do use it to park if I am leaving my car running.

Manual or automatic, I use the E-brake when I park.

You know I actually think I've been to Frostburg when I had Thanksgiving in Maryland last year. We ate in this one restaurant on the way home, hell if I remember the name. All I remember is that we met at an old hotel...

I live in Alaska and still don't have any snow. This year is messed up. We usually have snow in mid october and its like 40 degrees outside. And no, my igloo is not melting.

if the street is really tight like the side streets by kramer mazda i will use the ebrake.. but if not.. i will just use it to park because i don't leave my car in gear

Why wouldn't you leave your car in gear? There is less chance of it moving then when you don't want it to.

I don't leave mine in gear either... It's just something I have a habit of doing. If I'm on a hill though, I'll stick it into reverse and use the E.
