Where in SC do you live? A friend's sister lives outside of Charelston, and he said COL wasn't too bad.... Is he a dirty liar?

 

I live 2 minutes from downtown Charleston. True though, if you don't live close to town, it is cheaper. A girl who I dated and lives about 45 mins. to an hour away pays only $500 rent for a house!! You are lucky to find a 1 BR aptmnt. outside of town (where I am now) for that price that isn't in the ghettos!! So that part is probably true what your friend said.

I'm not too sure how far they live out, I think it's like 15-20 minutes or something like that, maybe a little more. Apparently they live in one of those planned communities, next to a golf course, next to a nice lake, and their house wasn't outrageously expensive (I think a 4br or big 3br, 2 bath, 2 car garage for like $160k I think)... That's about on par with houses around here in nice neighborhoods.

My friends (actually co-worker) was thinking of moving down there which would have sucked... His brother in law works for some company, he said he could get him in for about $20k more

Business must be booming down there or something...
