Still Grounded

I agree with Nick but, Nick the car is the easiest thing to punish you with because you love it so much. The fact that they used the car to punish you will instill that you won't forget your lesson, even though you believe there wasn't one. Remember, if you have the opportunity again, think twice about it. That's all your parents are trying to do. 'Think about the consequences if...'

I understand how you feel girl, my parents use to love to do the same thing to me when I was in high school and still lived at home. Every time I got in trouble my car was the first thing to go. Granted my parents did by me the car (it was only a 1986 Dodge Daytona ), so they did have the right to take it away. Either way it sucks though. I agree that they don't really have the right to take your car away though since you pay for it, but they definatly can ground you since you still live under their roof there for making it so you can't drive your car since you can't go anywhere.

Okay, this is going to come from the parent in me....I have three kids....two daughters...one is 21 the other 17, my son is only 12.
My 21 yr old doesn't even have a car....she won't work hard enough or save enough of her money to buy one...so she bums rides and walks.....my 17 year old doesn't even have her drivers licence yet....why? because she doesn't have a job...and she hasn't saved up any money to get herself a car, but she will. I won't buy them a car...not even a beater to start with. IF they want to drive....and have the responsibility of automobile ownership...then they will do as Matt has done, get themselves a job...and buy their own car, pay for their own insurance....and buy their own gas to go from one place to another. At the same time...as long as they live under MY roof....they will abide by MY rules. And YES, that would mean I can ground them, and that would include their car, regardless of who paid for it. As all I have to do is ground them from going anywhere...and that effectively takes the car away.......There is a lifes lesson here to learn....I hope you did.
Maxx, just keep one thing in mind....for starters...you mom is NOT a bitch. She loves you very much. IF you parents didn't care about you and how you grow up....you wouldn't be grounded. They are trying to teach you a lesson...and a good one. 90210brandon hit the nail on the head.
Just live and learn.....and know in your heart that your parents are doing this because they love you.....show them respect....and make sure you tell them that you love them. for THEY didn't mess up...you did.
Maxx, I have seen your place...the pics you have shown us....you are one very lucky guy.......don't give your parents grief over this.....you did the crime...now do the time......just suck it up and go with it.
I HAVE EDITED MY POST...AS I WAS CORNFUZZLED!!! sorry maxx and matt. :{D

All I'm saying is that I should have another punishment. The car wasn't realyl theirs to take away as Matt said...
I understand how you feel girl

my 2 worthless cents..
whine all you want, you live with mom and dad. until you get a place of your own, then you can do whatever you want. life's too short to complain about the smallest things such as your issue.

Maxx is a boy, I am assuming that the girl in the picture is the partner in crime, and a cute one at that.

i know how it goes with the grounding thing... yet i have NO CLUE why im grounded. This is how my parents work, they get angry at eachother and then ground me. its pretty stupid but i guess i have to live with it.
Right now im grounded during the week from my car, meaning my dad wakes me up, takes me to school in my car (yes hes driving my protege now since he sold his ) , and then he goes off to work i go to school all day, then get the fun of walking home from school everyday, since i get out at an odd time of day when no other of my friends get out , then all i am aloud to do once home is sit and screw around on the computer or do homework (ive surprisingly been spending 8 hours a day on homework and im still unsure where its coming from when i used to rarely have none) and i have no car afterschool either, and am not aloud to go anyplace from what i understand (though they seem to say i can walk anyplace i want... uh right
then comes the weekends, friday afterschool my keys will be sitting on the counter for me with a free tank of gas in my se-r or p5 which is my decision. and i am free for the weekend to do what i want (sure as hell am not staying at home at all!, i spent two nights at a friends house this weekend) but then comes sunday at 6pm i have to give back my keys and go back to hell.
and the fun of this all, they didnt keep their end of the bargin, i came home and went back to bed this morning, i woke up my mom had left pissed off, and she had taken my car away already.... now that i think is a little hypocritical, i was promised to have it til 6pm, not noon on sunday... it does make a diffrence to me
agh, and im still very very unsure why im grounded, anyone ever have this happen to you? you act perfect around them and do no bad, and they ground you just cause they can....aghhh

well im actually 17 (i havent updated my profile forever), almost 18.
this is probably the 20th time ive explained this, but ive been working since i was 12-13 for my parents and have always been putting away money for a car until i was 16, at that time i had about 12-13k in the bank to put towards a car, so with the help of my father i bought a new 2002 Protege5 which fit my requirements perfectly. in the next 6 months i paid off the rest of the car and stuff. during these times i worked quite a few diffrent jobs and such, then over last summer i saved money to buy another project car with more power for my tastes, originally i wanted a rx7 or something of that sort, but i came accross a low milage se-r which had alot of potential, rarity and fun all in one.... so i bought it spending my whole summers earnings on it and licensing and such. if you think im full of ****, come down and we'll meet up, ill bring both my cars (have one of my friends drive one) and ill show you my registrations... both have my name on them (with my dad as a co-owner because im not 19 or whatever you have to be).

In retrospect, it probably wasn't worth it, but I'm off grounding now (yay!) so I'll just quietly retreat into the sunset...
