Was wondering if anyone has experience with slashcode? I notice that the protegeclub.com main page is kind of blah and useless.. slashcode would make it kick fargin ***. They use it on sites such as Slashdot, Vermont LAN Party's and of course Slashcode.com. I think it would really give this site more of a purpose other than just the forums.

 

that stuff is pretty cool, but also on the boring side....i think denzine <sp?> did a slamming job with the homepage and the banner and i'd hate to see that go....i think it definetly needs some spicing up, maybe a few frames that include, What's New, What's hot, (i know they are already there, but need to be more "in your face" as i just skip right past the homepage to the forums...) a calander would be nice, upcoming events, meets, races, etc...a feature of the month car, or maybe even the week, that way we can get more cars and ppl have a better chance of being featured. Have these homepage frames link to the forum threads.....Maybe we can have ppl write small collums, there has to be some journalist types on this board....tech articles, stories, etc....maybe a few nice Pro pics...Memberships maybe, that would include a small qty of biz cards, a sticker or 2, a t-shirt, email newsletter, discounts at shops, etc... there are a million options....

i for one, would be more than happy to organize such a venture.

 

Your layout right now looks really good, definetly dont get rid of it. I didnt mean to sound so modest, you could easially (well kinda) merge in slashcode with the current layout. You could integrate slashdot.org like userability + protegeclub.com layout = a very useful and stylish page. BTW there is a calender plug-in for slashcode :P I would be more than happy to help out if you are looking for someone. What backend is this site running anyway?

 

Actually there is a calendar with VBulletin should I turn it on. I didnt think anyone was going to use it.

Calendar is up anyone can add events. But only add stuff within reason. I dont want to know your anniversary, birthday or when you lost your virginity.
