I was all for this guy until he mentioned the cell call. But $150 fine is nutty - and so is the $140 "filing fee" for an appeal. That oughtta be reversed.

I think in NY, there is no cost for an appeal, but you muct pay the fine FIRST. If you are found not guilty on appeal, they refund the fine to you. Fair enough, I guess.

Never heard of a filing fee either, that is shitty, perhaps even unconstitutional (IMHO!)

Same thing here with the fine though -- they call it "bail"! You get the money back if you win :)
