I see that you love the Corvette, its a great car, its however not for me. I have been in a 1,000+ HP Supra that not only had great straight line performance but also AutoXed the car regularly. I am an import guy, my first vehicle when I was 16, was an 89 Short wheelbase single cab chevy truck with a Twin Turbo LT1. It was fun and very fast, but v8's lack fuel economy amongst other things. I do like the rumble of V8's but prefer imports. Everybody is different.

Mazda Claims my Protege5 can get 31MPG on the highway. At 70 MPH I get about 25MPG. Chevy says the 405hp ZO6 will get 28MPG on the highway. Thats a damn close comparison for two vehicles that are so different. Also, a 1000hp supra would definetly not be a godd vehicle for your argument Travis. It would get about 8MPG and I wouldn't like to drive that car on an autoX track either. Too much power for autoXing in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love my protege5, but the 'vette is hard to beat in almost any category. You'd have to spend almost 100K to get a car with equal performance. A cheap performance fix would be a motorcycle. My ninja had about 120hp at the crank (stock). This is in a 385lb vehicle. A sub-3 second 0-60MPH was an everyday occurance for me on the street and on the track. Cars would rev and I would laugh in my helmet.

Back on topic, the openroad banner is in the lead, however I would like a few more posts to be sure. Monday, 12:00AM is the deadline. Please get your vote in.....

Just a quick question - what position do you have the vent setting in, and do you have the fan on? If the fan's on, 3 of the 5 settings for ventilation turn on the AC without turning the light on the button on.

Just a thought. I roadtripped to Western Ontario with mine from 1000 to 2700 miles, and was pulling 30+ mpg with my fat butt, my dad's fat butt, fishing gear, and a week's worth of clothing, etc. for small Canadian lakes. Oh, and the roof rack was on as well.

I have never felt the AC in my Protege5 to be on, UNLESS I pushed the AC button in. Its never cold unless the light is on. And besides, I can feel the parasitic loss from the AC compressor when accelerating.

Back to the topic at hand. There is not a clear winner yet, there is a tie, so the poll goes on.
