Should I buy this.....

A friend of mine is selling a 1989 Mazda RX-7 for $500. The car has a stock motor which I must admit, is extremely strong. The only downside is that it needs some body work (Hood is off center, Both fenders are dented, needs a paint job, sunroof doesn't open, tires/wheels are shot) and the Slave cylinder is bad. (Clutch slowly engages with your foot on the clutch pedal thinking the car is in neutral) and one muffler is bad. Other than that it's not too bad. I mean, it's a cheap, it's RWD and it's a sports car. Another downside is that it's not a turbo. It's N/A I'll try to get some pics later. But I'm really thinking about it. I can probably talk him down to like $300. Other than my Grand National, this will be the 2nd RWD car I've had

What do you think

yes, but it's not a sleeper. The "brap" gives it away!

yea it is hard to be a sleeper with 102db exhaust...lol
it sounds like a good deal if it runs well, have it compression tested first, here are some sites to check out

Careful of high-mileage rotaries... don't the tip seals only live to around 120,000 miles on ones of that vintage?

With a little skill and determination, you could have a fun car that doesn't break the bank.

I voted "yes" because it's a cool car. Good luck if you decide to do it.

i would get it

its N/A so the engine has the potential to stay strong for quite a bit, quite a few have gone over 200,000 miles, stock engine

turbo ones don't last as long

i think its an awesome deal, and ye, RX-7s aren't sleepers, rotaries are loud, and depending on hows its tuned, the brap brap gives it away
