The scenery sucks these days

Does it bother anyone else that we (the drivers of real, normal vehicles) seem to spend a lot of time staring at the tailgate of an SUV or van? I'd sure love to see where I'm going once in a while, without having one of those overpriced, underpowered, unnecessary behemoths blocking out everything but the sun. I just spent 3 stoplights reading the same damn "my brat is an honor student" bumper sticker, and when that idiot finally turned off, ANOTHER one pulled out in front of me, and I spent the rest of the drive home staring at his stupid "I'd rather be fishing" license plate frame! Keep those damn things out of my way, I say!

(ok. I'm done now.)

I know, I hate driving behind them. I almost ran a red light the other day cause I was driving behind one that has this stupid sign on the back of it that made me see even less and he ended up running a red light. I couldn't even see the light and had to brake fast once I realized it.

As far as I am concerned, they should be banned along with cells!

Suvs are good if u have a need for one (towing a boat or camper) But they shouldnt be used as a daily driver.

Acually, they're not even really good for that (on a large scale). The rear suspension on most SUVs aren't built for hauling/towing.... Not to say that they can't do the job, it's just not as safe to tow with an suv because of it's mushy weakish rear suspension...

a small few of us SUV owners do take our vehicles off-road.

some can't afford 2 vehicles so have to drive it as a dd.

the ones that do it just for looks or "safety" can be taken out.
but to ban all suvs would suck.

To ban them would suck but my city police department has 2wd chevy tahoes for police trucks. Now wtf is that about?

I didn't say ban 'em. I learned to drive on an '81 Jeep Scrambler, and I wanted to buy it from my uncle in the worst way. I'd love to have an old one for bashing around logging roads and stuff.

But a middle-age couple with 2 kids, living in the middle of suburbia, doesn't need an Expedition! It's a waste of money, gas, and steel, and it's visual pollution.

one of the other posts said ban them. I just wanted to clear it
up that there are good uses for them. I don't know if there's
any good use for a hummer or the other uber suvs though.

I'd be willing to say that 60% or more of SUV owners don't even take advantage of what the vehicles could be used for... But I dunno, I'm just biased I guess, I don't like them too much. I don't have a problem with people who DO have use for them, but it's rediculous seeing soccer moms driving expeditions, or excursions (which I see an AWFUL lot of).

I have a couple of friends who are cops whose departments have 2WD suv's. They say they are great for hauling all of the cop gear, bad in chases (except over curbs. lawns, etc -main reason for having them). 2wd is easier to fix when you bash it over curbs and such versus 4wd (less moving parts).

I would say more like 90%. And what's the point of smaller SUVs? like the Toyota RAV4 to me screams girl's car. It doesn't increase machoness in anyways. But then people have their own preferences.

I rather have a car that can a car at 55mph and regaining control completely then to swerve left and right. I also like to spend less less than 2 minutes at the gas pump.
