I don't know if I'm a traitor or not, but I'm in LOVE!!!!! Anybody read Road & Track this month? My wet dream is on the cover. I was thinkin about the P5, but I dunno now. My 1st Mazda was a 76 Cosmo. I love rotary's. Should I or shouldn't I. R&T says it should retail for around $30,000. Anybody else in love?

I also tripped and fell in love with the Mazda 6, and if I'm ever rich, I'm getting a Jaguar XKR Convertible.... and a Lamborghini Murcielago...


but the rx-8 is sweeeet...... should be below 35,000$

 

Im just pissed that I just bought my P5 a month ago and now in July theres a new version coming out. Dude if somehow you can swing the bill of an RX-8 I won't be holding any grudges other than pure Envy.

 

You had a Cosmo? did you read the feature in the same issue on the Cosmo as well? That was a good read

The RX-8 will likely be my next car, but I'm reserving final judgement until I see it in the steel.

I've read estimates of base price at $30,000 USD. That's $48,000 Canadian. There is no way the RX-8 will be less than $40,000 CDN.

Currently a Miata goes for about 21K in the states and 27K in Canada. In the R&T article a 26K base price was hinted at in the US. So if the conversion factor is the same as with the Miata I get:

21(Miata USD) 26(RX-8 USD)
------------- = -----------------
27(Miata CDN) X(RX-8 CDN)

X = 33.4K CDN

I've got my fingers crossed! Even 36K CDN would be reasonable.

 

Damn, that's almost what my Cosmo looked like. It was brown, had color keyed power mirrors near the doors instead of those ugly chrome things up front. It was pretty quick too, for a teen ager. If only I could find another one not beat to hell. As far as the dealer's go, it'll be like the PT Cruiser. After 6 months, you'll be able to find 'em. I agree about the Mazda 6 too. Sweet ride!! But, I'm hitting my midlife crisis early, so make mine a Renesis powered Rice Rocket!!!!!!!
