It could be true that a "green" engine might be robbing power. My p5 didn't have enough ***** until I hit the 1800km mark. My gas mileage got better and it had more kick to it in the rpm range.

Well, if you run into any hills, you'll have to downshift 3 gears anyway to make it up them
