paint help

I am getting the hook up on a paint job, and i want the same color that i already have. The problem is that i dont know the official name of the paint. It is the dark blue that comes on the Gen II. Does anybody know the name of it? hurry!

You could try looking at the color code on the door sill and ask the dealer for it. But then again, half the dealers out there don't know jack.

I'm pretty sure that they would need to take a sample off your car and mix and match if you want that colour since I know that nobody carries exactlly 'Black Mica' or 16W (the code) not even Mazda, the body shops have to do some colour matching

With the color code any paint shop should be able to contact the dealer to get the exact formula for mixing the paint. They should not have to take a sample of the paint of the car. Keep in mind different batches of paint aren't usually exactly the same color. It may not be a noticable difference until the paint ages, but the shop should use a blending technique if any area of the car is keeping the stock paint.
