Kewl pic.

I am not suprised that cops would start pickin up imports. It's easy to get street racers..to engage in a street race with a car like that!

Weird, I was actually thinking of the perfect cop car. And i thought of a new sti. I dont think anyone would try to race him with a lightbar on the roof

kargoboy Oct 3, 2004 06:39 AM

Look closer at the pic...I think the cop's lights are from a car blocked by the sti.
And there are three of 'em in cuffs, so probably three drivers as well...

FlyinHawaiian071 Oct 3, 2004 10:42 AM

Where do you see a third person in cuffs? If the lightbar was being blocked by the STi as well, then you'd also be able to see the cop car. Crown Vics, or Impalas for that matter, are much longer than teh STi and almost no matter from what camera angle (unless the cop was further away, and then you're talking about depth...) you'd still be able to see the cop. I think this shot may be a real one. I know New Jersey and a couple of other states are using Camaros to nab people now... So an STi? Could be...

Tranquilized Oct 3, 2004 02:18 PM

Yeah, they got Camaros and Mustangs here. Anyone tried to zoom in on the lettering on the rear fender or the license plate? That might end the debate.

kargoboy Oct 4, 2004 11:53 AM

Ok, maybe not cuffed but there's a kid in the street next to the red car, can't tell what it is...

Racing Beat Oct 4, 2004 12:00 PM

red car is a civic coupe...

Rio Grande Oct 4, 2004 12:32 PM

Racing Beat I think you mean Accord coupe. Let me kow if I wrong.

In MD we have neons, mustangs, camaros, and expeditions that drive around snatching people up. It's too hard to tell if it's real or not. My co-worker just took a look at it and he thinks that the cop car is on the other side. As mentioned before the light bar would give it away if it were on the subaru. Cops want to blend in with the crowd and the light bar wouldn't help.

kbow Oct 4, 2004 01:22 PM

If that police department paid that much for a car, I dont think they would kill the whole point by putting a light bar on the roof.

FlyinHawaiian071 Oct 4, 2004 01:36 PM

Well, you're probably right, but for the sake of argument, I wonder how hard it would be to disguise it as a roof rack... Dunno, just throwing ideas out there...
