need your opinion

got bored yesterday and went looking at cars. my g/f and i came across this car.

It's a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE 20th Anniversary Edition. I've always wanted one of these and now there's one sitting in my lap. Still waiting to here back on the price but what are your opinions on the car. should i go for it or keep the protege??

not a bad car to go out and buy but if requires getting rid of the protege I say, "Pass".

There's nothing wrong with a protege that a centrifugal supercharger thats intercooled can't fix!

sure, why not? superchargers don't dump on power like a turbo does.

I'd be willing to bet you'd have almost no problems with a supercharger on an automatic....of course I'd need an auto protege here for testing to be 100% sure.

ok. i knew our tranny's couldn't handle a turbo but i wasn't sure about a supercharger. how long would you need the car and what would be involved?

well, I'm still working on the final supercharger manufacturer, but it will probably be powerdyne. Once I get their blower in I'll fab up the mounting brackets and do some base tests on my own 5-spd car to see how it runs before I secure an automatic as a test mule.

Is your car a P5? i'm going to need a regular ES or LX with a stock front end so I can check intercooler fitment. I want to make a universal intercooler that will work well for the non-p5/mp3 guys as well.

sure you don't mind junking up your thread like this? If so we can just go over to my 2.0L Supercharger thread. It needs a bump anyway!
