melyssa, we haven't been affected at all by the protests (last month and yesterday)
in fact the first protest they marched right by our store and the idiots came in and ate, we had a killer day. whats the point of boycotting if you aren't going to boycott? sheesh. and every single employee knows if they are scheduled and don't show (particularly on the days of the protest) they will lose their job. its not worth it i tell them and to just ask in advance if they want to support a cause they believe in, but we aren't changing anything because there are better ways to get a point across, not try to hurt the economy of the country you want to be a part of.

also, a nice little tax (oh let's say 80%) on money transfers out of the country (specifically to mexico) might get someone's attention

Esteban, I love your guitar playing bro.

Secondly, If americans would just vote the "Fair tax" into law we'd have no real issues.

please please please read up on this wonderful new tax idea. It could save our country from itself.

wow my friends are having a heated email "debate" (if you can call it that) bout this topic. somehow it migrated to about how close minded and racist we were for being zombies to Fox News and crap like that. he said, "when i smell racism, i put it out" or some lame crap like that. the dude who said those things is not my friend, rather the husband of a friend. and having never personally meeting half the people he emailed his reply to, i dont see how he can draw conclusions on one email message where you can't tell the emotion or the tone of the voice.

i hate politics, not because i don't like to discuss them or i don't have an opinion. obviously or i wouldnt have replied to this post in the first place. but i hate politics because people get so wrapped up in proving the other wrong and 1-upmanship that they are no better than the politicians they so abhor.

The fair tax is not good. It is good for millionaires and corporations. Tax rates will be higher for lower middle class families and it has not been proven to be able to raise enough in revenue.

Blackknight, Before you decide to make a blanket statement, pull yourself back and do some research on the subject..... It is based on what you buy..... not a variable rate. This is not like Flat tax.

yeah, what a dork.

Fairtax rocks !!!!

big business and rich people can't use laws and bull crap loopholes to get out of paying taxes, and people that get paid "under the table", or even drug dealers, pimps, and the like STILL have to pay taxes... because EVERYBODY has to buy stuff....

The idea of wiping out an ENTIRE BRANCH of the government sounds like a GREAT idea to me !!!!

Like i said, Let the illegals stay - they will be paying taxes and those wonderful corporate superuberhigh taxes will not be rolled into the cost of goods sold.

On the same line of the fair tax, the gov should just legalize weed and tax the hell out it too. Every one would be happy, and you could easily fund a few pointless wars with the money to be made from that tax, and ironically so all the hippys would pay for it

When I say that this is good for rich people, I'm considering that they spend less of their earnings (percentage wise) that poorer people, therefore a national sales tax is good for them.
