Did the old motor break or what? Do you already have a bit of money into your Protege? And what year and setup would the 240 be (90-94 hatch, coupe, conv...95-98 coupe, 5 spd or auto)? That would at least help me. You'd love the RWD on the 240, but I can't make an educated vote until a little more info is provided. Then I'm not potentially mispersuading you. Thanks.

the motor is considered absolutly worthless.. metal shavings have been found in the oil, so my motors gonna be pulled out..

it is a 1999 protege dx with automatic trans... i havn't had the thought on the rest of my car except the motor... so the motor was a big waste of my money. none was put in it

the 240SX is a (i think) a 94' , deffinatly has a 5speed manual.. im gonna call the guy up tomarrow and get some more info..

i know im gonna put some money into the car if i buy it

What are the miles and price of the 240? If its bad, it might not even be worth it!

its going for $450... yeah thats low. but i figure if im seriously concidering about buying it, id part out my car. getting more then what the car is worth whole, and then fixing up the 240
im basicly on a lowered deadline to get a motor in and working.. i was planning on auguest, but my parents sold our house and now i have untill june 9th or the end of june
like i said.... im going to call tomarrow and ask some questions about it, maybe even see it or test drive it

also my parents accepted me parting my car out... i dont want to, but i wanted a 240... it all depends on how much i worked up and what the car looks like..

im probably just gonne end up keeping the pro... thats my fkn baby (im talking about my mazz pro)

hey the 240 is a good car... but u guys in USA get the KA24DE (t) engine right?? which i hear is a crok of **** ....... try and get a sr20det.. much better engine.... also i donno bout how its there in USA but there is a million and 1 mods for the SR20det....

or u could even go loco and shove a RB26dett in there haha....

i would personally pick the 180... (err i mean 240)... due to the fact that i love that car and its RWD + awsome for drift hehe

if you have the money, I would say go with the 240. No shortage of mods or parts. A must though is the sr20, like MC said, at minimum.

the 240sx for u guys is the car with pop up head lights and a hatch like rear correct???

coz i heard some of the 240s sold there were in fact onevias or sil80;s... correct me if i am wrong hehe

i would personally go for the 240 without doubt... the sr20 is an AMAZING engine to play around with and soo soo much u can do to it..

but then again its not everyday u see a hotted up protege drivin around

once again LOL sorry i am speakin in terms of australia.. too many 180s and 200's drivin arond...

yes, that's the 240sx. Though I'm not sure on the specifics of an 89, and the filter here at work blocks everything that might have a picture of one, even the classifieds.

sooooooooooo, should i part my car out?
thats where almost all my money will come from. if i was to buy the 240.... and slightly mod it and mod the interior...(motor and interior only, unless body work is needed)

in some places they are like candy. They certainly aren't rare, but it doesn't sound like there are as many here as there per capita.

I'm thinking the parting out will be a good idea, just be conservative with your estimates on how much you'll make from it.
