I'm freakin pissed.... Went into work Monday mornin feeling pretty good... Then about mid afternoon the big guy comes to talk to us and says " Thank You for all your help and your dedication but due to some cut-backs we won't be needing you to come in tomorrow...... They totally F#$%ed me...... Now I'm stuck with bills, rent, and a car payment to take care of let alone a child.... but I'm thinkin of hittin up unemployment till I can find somethin...

 

Sucks. i know it happen to me when i worked for Velmont Ind. a couple years ago. had to get a job a target until i found another. also i know some people that just got laid off at boeing. alot of them just got done getting a house and new car.. so they are in some deep ****. hope you find something. good luck!

 

I'm with ya, man. I was laid off from Agere Systems in November. The job market bites right now...especially when I consider how good Agere payed. It's tough to find something comparable. I was lucky enough my severence pay has me set through spring, but it's still scary.

Stick it out, apply for unemployment right away. I'm getting unemployment while collecting severence pay...so I'm actually making more money than when I had a job!

well islandpro is about to be no more. i am moving back to the midwest and going back to college. this will most likely happen in the next month or so..
