Ok, so I was with some friends last week and when I showed them my car, they said it looked like a Ford Focus (wagon).. how bad is that??

There's no way that the Focus is similar to the P5! It's such a shame how some people don't know anything about cars! I mean sure, some of us don't really know the mechanics, but at least I recognize a nice car when I see one!!

Anyway, just thought I'd say this. I was kinda pissed but oh well.. some people are just not meant to be car enthusiats!

This says it all ,Sorry I do like the Focus .I drove one I wallows and rolls ,way to many blind spots .If someone can't tell the difference thy need to have their eyes checked to be able to the the emblems .

 

It looks nothing like the Focus, maybe they look the same because its a Hatchback I got some retarded friends like that too, they don't know any better because they know crap about cars

 

what's funny is that all the cars that "share" the same characteristics (focus, aerio, matrix blah blah blah) look nothing like the p5! mazda's ride is way more sleek and sporty. all the others seem bulky and minivan-like.

 

well....they don't look REALLY fugly....but sitting next to a P-5 there is just no comparison.....

I did see one at the WIC races in Houston....it was really nice lookin...but it had had a lot of mods done to it....the ONE thing that I personally don't like about the look of the focus is the headlights....I just don't like how big the housings are and the way they go up onto the hood and fender area.....the one I saw that I really liked had a whole new piece in there that was painted to match the car and had projection headlights installed.....it really cheaned up the front of the car a LOT.

 

you said it there wil, i like 'em when they are modded up and all, but stock vs. stock? hands down the 5 wins.

Sir Nuke, I saw a Rally Focus with those projector headlights and it did look much better.

 

not only did the one I saw look decent on the outside....under the hood there was a blower!

 

I have nothing against Focus.. just that it's not the same car!!

I love the Rally Focus.. I don't care if it's Ford, I would race it anytime!!!

 

The guy that I bought my puppy from on Sunday thought that I was driving a Mustang. I was like "Uh, no actually that's a Mazda." LoL People trip me out sometimes!

Don't sweat it though, if they'd had a Focus sitting right there next to your car at the time they would have definitely seen the MAJOR differences!

As for the Focus, I agree that it can be a hot little car when done up nicely, especially the SVT

 

My friend just came over with his brand new SVT Focus and we took a spin. I'll take the Pro looks, but the SVT has some kick to it! It'll be interesting to see how the Mazdaspeed Protege stacks up to the SVT Focus - on paper I would say the Focus wins, but I just don't like the looks of the SVT (or ZX3 for that matter).

Of course 'on paper' includes projected numbers by Mazda.

 

ya know...I REALLY don't care how fast they are....how good they do or don't handle....it really makes NO difference....the Mazda wins hands down in the looks department....and you can ALWAYS work on the performance part....but what are you going to do if it starts out FUGLY.....it goes all the way to the bone......
