"import" & "domestics"

talking to hard-core domestic car-guys is like repeatedly.

i can't handle the domestic boards. i just can't. i've never seen so much unwillingness to give credit where credit is due as far as japanese cars goes. damn it all.

anyway. it's nicer when people have a general love for anything with wheels rather than this constant "import = crap" or "domestic = crap" mindset.

frustrating.

my favourites so far:

1) having to correct a moderator on the definition of "spoon" engine after they tried to explain that it was the same as "shoehorning" in a big V8 into a car..... "spooning" in a bigger engine into an import. ummmm no.

2) after they watched that mr2 crash video, seeing someone try to explain it away as torque steer which is why they "never drive fwd vehicles"....... ummmmmm. no.

my favorite is when mustangs or chevy and ford trucks put altezza tails on. umm, hello, they're always bitching about the rice burners, but then they put altezzas on? yea, that's right, they started on the imports. that is one of my biggest complaints about the domestic crowd.

I guess thats his excuse for working at a Nissan dealer then??

I find it really frustrating, too... I love all kinds of cars, honda, mazda, ford, chevy, whatever so long as I think it's cool. Too bad more people aren't like me, I'm the ****!

BTW, Nice to see you back foxy

My favorite--a lowered truck. I'm sure lowering the truck will make it handle better with the leaf springs. Not to mention increase its functional aspects.

ditto that! I don't get it either! Raising it up I can understand (want to run over all other cars on the road ), but lowrider trucks I absolutely don't get...

I like lowrider trucks, my friend has an orange Nissan Hardbody. BTW I garauntee you more than half of the people who lower their cars aren't doing to for handling.
