If you could own 5 cars...

A friend and I were talking last night, and he asked if I could own 5 cars what would I buy. The only real rules are they have to be street legal cars, and they had to be sold in the US by the parent company's. That means no skylines, holden, blah blah blah.

The assumption is that you'd be able to afford to do just about whatever to these cars mod wise.

Mine were (in no particular order)

'02 Viper GTS or Z06 (Brute Speed Car)
'03 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet (Cruising, Chick-picker-upper)
'03 SVT Lightning (For hauling my overnight parts from Japan  )
'03 Lincoln Navigator (My bling bling ride)
'02 BMW M5 (Everyday driver, murdered of rice)

I went the semi-expensive route. My friend went the cheap route. I guess I'm just harder to please. His picks were:

Lincoln Navigator
'03 Mustang Cobra
G35 Coupe
Supercharger Nissan Frontier (eh, he's a nissan guy)
and WRX or EVO when it gets here

Kincaid January-4th-2003 10:29 AM

-Porsche GT3
-Aston Martin Vanquish [although technically a Ford company but produced in Aston factories. Can you get these in the US? :(]
-Ferrari Modena
-Porsche 911 Targa. Love that all glass roof :D
-BMW M5 as well. Gotta love 5.0L V8's that meet ULEV standards and can haul ass over most cars you'd meet on the road while still having four doors :D

Kincaid January-4th-2003 10:44 AM

The new Mercedes hatchback is the C320. Is that what you mean?

mantis January-4th-2003 10:49 AM

4WD Volvo, LOL
http://www.im-suomi.fi/volvo_filmen.zip

But seriously, they do make better 4wd's dowaday.

arl240 January-6th-2003 10:05 AM

I am going to put cars I theoretically could own someday, cuz dreaming too much ain't my thing.

1. Honda Civic Hybrid - good drivability, good on the environment, don't need anything fancier for commuting.

2. Acura MDX - one of the only SUV's that doesn't make me gag, b/c I personally hate SUV's and all they represent (lack of performance combined lack of practicality)

3. Dodge Ram Hemi - now that is a mean looking truck that rides quite well and can tow a crapload.

4. Audi S4 Quattro - for winter driving, I would also put some winter tires on it of course.

5. AMC Gremlin - Green - now that is a fun car, especially for derbying. It is the car that tries hard and loses everytime. And i would feel bad about bagging the piss out of it.

That's it. Those are the cars I think it would be fun to work for. If I was rich enough to afford the cars others mentioned (I know it is only a wishlist), I would buy a plane or helicopter and fly everywhere. And also get a ducatti 999, just to hump a bit. :D

macdaddyslomo January-6th-2003 11:14 AM

Ok this is a good list and possibly attainable...maybe not all 5 but 1 or 2

Mazda Speed Protege
Nissan 300zxtt
Datsun 240Z with Chevy 350 small block swap
Mazda Rx7(3rd gen)
Nissan 350Z
...ok I'm partial to Z's

Funky Buddha January-6th-2003 03:37 PM

Not in any order and in my

Porsche GT3
Audi S8
Nissan S15
Toyota Supra TT
Nissan Xterra

Indeed they do, but I've always had a thing for Volvos. :)

VagaBond-X January-7th-2003 12:53 AM

Ok heres my list....hmmm a couple of these won't be attainable tho...and the first one is not street legal for sure

1) Mazda RX-792P - i think it looks way better than the 787b, plus the 4 rotor engine would be a killer on the street. (i geuss my ultimate race car)

2) 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit 'R' - the newest 3rd gen, the only problem is that its not available here :( - I geuss then it would be a '95 RX-7 which would be attainable - I'd have it modded to large single turbo, putting out about 400 - 500hp tp the wheels :D

3) BMW M5 - I wicked car to autoX in. even though its on the heavy side, it still has wicked handling. even with the DSC, & TC, & etc etc. and all those gizmos off, it handles nicely.

4) Mazda6 - this one....I'd get the V6-GT model...and this would be my daily driver. a nice car putting out 220hp.

5) 2nd gen Mazda RX-7 TII (preferably an S5) - this i would have modded to a 3 rotor, and make it the ultimate sleeper

Well as everyone can see I'm partial to mazdas....especially those with ROTARY engines..... I don't care what neone says, this is the best engine ever made....

Now its time to get on with my normal life....of a 17 year old....trying to save up for a 2nd gen TII RX-7.......
